The course will be challenging the normal way of painting in Acrylics.
Aimed at beginners and improvers.
After a short demonstration you will be encouraged to work in both watercolour and acrylic. Or either if you prefer.
The aim is to learn, have fun, excitement and along the way you will meet new people.
Held in a village on the outskirts of York. The studio is on the first floor with private access. It has lovely view over the Wolds and a large garden for you to take a walk in at lunch time.
There is plenty of space for you to work in at large tables. All security and social distancing is observed at all times.
(Regarding your questions if there is still a risk of covid transmission.
The studio is approximately 38ft x 18ft and all of you will have your own space at 6ft tables that are well spaced out. You will come in from an external separate door into a sunroom with the sliding doors open. The working area will have some of the 11 windows open if weather permits
I would test your temperature on arrival and everyone would be asked to wear a mask at all times. There will be hand sanitises for use and you can scan a track and trace app if you have one on your phone. The room, toilet and kitchen facilities are covid compliant and are only used for my art courses. I have paper towels and hand sanitiser hand washing gel for your use. The studio and facilities are not only used as classes and are cleaned thoroughly before and after a workshop or class. If anyone wants to have drinks or food then they could go outside onto the patio are where there is seating. Any materials you use will of course be your own. The only thing I will provide tea, coffee, biscuits. I ask people to bring their own cups and lunch if they would prefer to. I am sure that this meets all safety precautions and that you do not have a need to worry unduly. Hopefully by the time of this workshop we will be free of this pandemic.)
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 8 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

This course was exactly what I was hoping for. Shirley provided expert guidance in a relaxed atmosphere.
I arrived as a complete novice, having absolutely no experience of acrylics and left eager to carry on. It was a day well spent and with the bonus of taking place in a beautiful Wolds setting.
Response from Shirley Davis Dew. Art 4 All:Thank you for your kind words. I thought you were very good with acrylics. You looked to have been using them for a while. I hope to see you again when you want to come to another workshop. Stay safe and positive.
Fabulous day. Great all round. Learnt a lot and now need to start painting. Will be looking at other courses now as well as a follow up one with Shirley
Response from Shirley Davis Dew. Art 4 All:Hi Debbie,
I bought a day workshop for my granddaughter Carys as a Christmas present to encourage her with her painting. She thoroughly enjoyed the day and with Shirley’s help and guidance brought home a wonderful piece of work.
Response from Shirley Davis Dew. Art 4 All:Hello Ann I was so pleased with the way Carys tried everything that I showed her, she was a pleasure to teach. She is obviously going to continue with her art, she is so enthusiastic. I am pleased she wants to come along on the next Landscape workshop in February. I look forward to seeing her again.
