2 hour plant holder macrame session.
Only a small group but Alice put us at ease and dealt with me getting in a muddle( which is no mean feat on zoom) pot not finished but have information to do this.
Alice's workshop was great fun. In just two hours and in a small online group, we learned how to make a really pretty macrame pot hanger, with everything we needed to be able to complete it quite quickly after the session. Alice was patient, friendly, and relaxed, and the knotting process also gave lots of time for chatting and asking questions as we progressed. Alice was able very clearly to demonstrate the three knots we used, effectively overcoming the challenges of a virtual workshop setting. By the end, I felt that I'd learned the basics of a new skillset, and that I had enough knowledge to be able to adapt the knots to my own designs in the future. Along the way, we heard that there are a couple of thousand knots - so this was just the beginning, but it was really satisfying to get so far in such a short time. Warning: I can really see how knotting can become addictive. Especially if you find that friends and family encourage you with positive feedback on your efforts!
I attended the 2hr macrame pot hanger course today and it was so much fun! Alice is a great teacher, very clear and endlessly patient. The 2hrs flew by and I am so pleased with my pot hanger!
This is the second course I have attended run by Alice, however this is the first time attending virtually. I would really recommend it - its a relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Thanks so much Alice!
Can’t believe I made a whole plant pot hanger! Alice talked is through it really well and was patient. Thanks so much
I have really been enjoying exploring Vanderhume’s ‘Virtual Introduction to Macrame’ Workshop so far. As a beginner to macrame, I have found the written instructions and accompanying visual aids by Alice really easy to understand which has given me the confidence to start playing with a new technique. I love that this workshop gives you unlimited access to the all of the information you need as it means I have been able to take it at my own pace and I can revisit the guides at any time I wish. I haven’t felt pressured to complete a final piece really quickly, so I have been able to enjoy the process more and reserve it for time when I can sit quietly and relax whilst doing it. The community facebook group which you also get access to with this workshop is really sweet and I look forward to posting more of my progress pictures on it as I continue with my makes! I would definitely recommend this workshop if you are looking to explore macrame but have no idea where to start, and I am hoping to explore more of Vanderhume’s workshops in the future!
