An excellent day overall. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the time went quickly. The facilities were spot on.
Bridget allowed us to follow our own ideas in a supportive and encouraging way. I learnt loads about the process of wet felting - which was more complicated and energetic than I thought. I feel much more confident about having another go myself one day. Thank you very much!
I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop. Bridget is a super teacher, very helpful with good ideas (and patient). She provided all the equipment needed and the environment was just right. I may go back again for another course and improve my skills but I will practice what I've learnt first! Thank you Bridget!
As a beginner I was a little apprehensive, but had a fabulous day learning new techniques and am very proud of my picture. Bridget helped me massively with a detailed scene of lavender fields which at one point I regretted choosing! However all ended well and I would highly recommend this workshop, although I understand that the course will now only be covered over two days not one. 9 hours actually wasn't enough to complete the finer details, but we were given plenty of wool to complete it at home.
Bridget was a great teacher and very friendly. We learnt the basic principles of wet felting as well as various different techniques to manipulate the felt in different ways depending on the final result we were trying to achieve. I was over the moon with my picture, it looked really professional. I would recommend this course 100%.
Wow: Bridget is a great artist and fabulous teacher: indefatigable in giving us all so much individual attention . Also creates a warm , supportive atmosphere: I learnt a lot technically and am inspired to do more! Lovely light venue , and great tea choice and biccies!!
This course was extremely well organised, started on time straight into assembling the felt backing and building the picture. It was a full on course with every minute being hands on learning with no waffling on. I learnt so much about how to build up a picture background and then how to get the illusion of texture as well as the basic principles of wet felting that was new to me.
The day was long but extremely fulfilling and enjoyable producing a fabulous picture at the end of it
I attended a weekend workshop which was brilliant. . Bridgette is a fabulous teacher, very patient and thorough. What I really liked was the fact she shared her techniques with us, things that work for and techniques she uses on her own work. Everybody got lots of individual attention. Although we didn't finish it picture, we were given knowledge and fibres to finish at home. Loved the weekend and will definitely do another one.
A very enjoyable course with enthusiastic and empathetic tutor. Very good venue, detailed directions, practicalities handled well etc.
Lots of demonstrations and learned new techniques.
As a part-time artist, fitting in creative projects around full time work (former art teacher) I feel v frustrated not to get the same subtlety of effects through feltmaking as I might in watercolour or acrylic. It is going to take time to master this medium!
I have enjoyed the course thoroughly. First the instructions were clear and the teacher guide us through each process systematically. The explanations were straight to the point. The teacher also demonstrates where needed and she repeats and help us through. She has good intuition when to let us do it on our own and when to take over. She is encouraging and feels proud of our creations too. :D
It's a long time since I enjoyed a day as much as the Bridget's felt making workshop. She is a great host and teacher. We had the lot - from individual guidance, to fascinating snippets about the history of felt making, to loads of information about how Bridget has developed her felt picture making skills - all to help us produce a felt picture we could be proud of. She created a warm, friendly atmosphere in which the 9 hours we spent working on our pictures flew by. I particularly welcomed her skill in analysing the photos and images we brought with us to base our felt pictures on. Her guidance enabled us build layers that would produce a good felted image. Inspirational - I've already booked on a two day masterclass and I'm looking forward to working on some small felt pictures at home.
I learnt so much from Bridget's felting course. She has developed her own individual felting techniques and it was fascinating to learn from her. Bridget has excellent teaching skills. She gave clear instructions and tailored advice on techniques for each individual piece of work and person. She is an inspirational person and her energy is infectious. I've never known 9 hours pass so quickly! :)
I couldn't fault the course. It was organised so efficiently and each member of the groups needs were met at their own level and their own speed.
You explained the process so well and I found the whole thing fascinating. Your pleasant and friendly manner meant everyone felt relaxed and able to work well, share and enjoy themselves.
Despite this course being 9 hours long, the time just flew by and Bridget's enthusiasm for this medium was really catching. She put the same effort and enthusiasm into each candidates work, suggesting a modified approach where appropriate given the aspirations or limitations of each person (I have damaged fingers), leaving us all inspired. I left this course feeling as if I had really learned something and with a piece of work which - although not quite finished and far from perfect - I was really quite proud of. I can't wait to try another picture at home.
Myself and my Mum attended a one day felt picture making course with Bridget. IT WAS FANTASTIC !! We learnt lots of techniques with Bridgets patient and clear demonstrations. Bridget guided us brilliantly with our work and we came away with a beautiful piece of artwork each lots of information and we are both itching to put our new skills into practice.
I had a wonderful time on my felting course. I learnt a completely new technique for wet felting that is much kinder on the arms, hands and fingers.
You explained everything well. The venue was good. Looking out over the fields helped get the colours right.
Your teaching skills are good and you had time for all of us, helping us get out pictures which we are proud of creating.
I shall be sharing your courses to my friends.
This is the second of Bridgets workshop I have attended and I was once again very impressed. She is very knowledgeable and gives instruction in a friendly, relaxed manner and I am thrilled with the bag I made. Looking forward to doing another workshop soon!
Bridget is an amazing teacher had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Finished the day feeling tired but exhilarated holding a bag that I cant wait to use (its going to France next week)
Very enjoyable, well thought out, friendly environment. Loved it.
