A fabulous opportunity to create a beautiful scarf while learning how to Nuno Felt. You will learn how to fuse the traditional technique of wet felting with the contemporary nuno process to design and make a unique new fabric by combining wool fibres with silk chiffon to make a Scarf.
During the day you will select the colour(s) you wish to work with and learn how to dye your silk chiffon fabric to coordinate with your design. You will gain an understanding of how and why wool fibres adhere to fabric, observe how different textured effects are possible using different weights and types of fabric and wool, and apply this knowledge to make your own scarf using silk chiffon.
Private 1-2-1 and group bookings can be made, likewise Emma is happy travel to teach with groups, schools and colleges at your venue.
An option to negotiate the focus of the workshop is available for 1-2-1/private groups - for instance it can be delivered over two days / focus on sampling with different fabrics / incorporate making scarves using other fabrics e.g habotai, marginal silk, silk charade (these silks and longer delivery times will attract an additional cost).

Thank you Emma, we really enjoyed the Nuno felting scarves course.
It was good to be in a small group of three as we were able to get lots of help and advice where needed. It was good though that you let us develop our own ideas and skills. We ended up with three completely different scarves in the group.
Your knowledge was invaluable and your enthusiasm infectious.
Love your garden 'hideaway'.
Looking forward to coming again.
My friend and I spent a blissful day in Emma's studio each making a scarf using the Nuno felting technique. Emma is a warm and welcoming tutor who explains each step very clearly and provides hands on help and advice at all stages. I would strongly recommend this course.
