Needle-felting course with FURZIE - Forge Mill Needle Museum, Redditch

Needlefelting is a wonderful craft, even if you don't think you are creative, the wool somehow inspires you to create. The course is suitable for beginners or those with some experience of felting already. You will be taught the basics of needle-felting, how to make a wire armature structure for your animal and how to sculpt with wool.

For the course cost you can each choose what animal you would like to make (within reason!), but pick something you love and you are familiar with how it looks, bring photos and especially a picture of the animal from the side view, so that we can get the proportions right - I will help you with this, don't worry about it! Just let me know what animals you would all like to make, so I can bring the right colour wools.

The course runs from 10am to 4.30pm and is held in a private meeting room in the Visitor Centre. Parking is available and lunch is included.

Courses are also available at other venues around the country. For more information, click on "More from this maker" below.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

All materials and tools are provided, plus you get to keep your felting kit, which includes a felting mat, needles and pen tool. A light lunch and refreshments.

An excellent course that worked for beginners like me and those more experienced. Michelle was wonderfully encouraging and patient. I was delighted with what I achieved in a day, made even better by the nice mix of people, the lovely venue and excellent food.
Thank You!

A very successful day!

My second needle felting course with Michelle at The Pedlars Tray and yet again a wonderful day. Michelle gives time to all her students and offers suggestions, advice and useful tips throughout the day. Even if you can't finish your project on the day she makes sure you have enough materials to complete at home.

I attended this course and had a superb day learning a new craft. Michelle was a great teacher putting everyone at ease, at no time did I feel rushed or ignored. Michelle was there to answer any questions and step in if anyone got stuck on their next move. I would thoroughly recommend this course to everyone. The only downside is that I now have to find some room for my new craft supplies !
