Needle Felted Hare

Family of Hares

About the Course

We will use natural coloured wool to needle felt an animal head or picture and then blend wools to add details and colour to create our beautiful animals. We will explore different types of needles as we felt the various parts of the animal. A selection of models and images will be available on the day but if you have an image you would like to have a try at creating then please bring them with you, we cannot guarantee to be able to make every breed as fibres and some animal face shapes will not be possible on the day. Please get in touch if you are not sure or wish to confirm the animal of your choice.

For those new to felting this is a great project and will allow you to create a unique character. If you have felted before then you will be able to refine the details and make your character even more distinct. Whatever your level we will support you at each stage and guide you in the process.

If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

We provide all the material you need for the day but additional materials are also available to purchase on the day.

We provide refreshments of tea and coffee and cold drinks through the day. If you have milk allergies please bring a small supply of your own. Bring your own lunch, we can refrigerate as needed but we ask for no seafood as I have a severe allergy.

Yet another excellent workshop with Rachel and Rhiannon.
Managed to produce a reasonable copy of my collie Rosie.
A friendly and enthusiastic class, lots of laughing and comparing of dogs.
Is really incredible how a bundle of wool can transform into an actual animal. There was a variety of dog breeds being recreated and at the end we were all pleased with the replicas of our precious pets.
This is my second class with Rachel and I can honestly say I have enjoyed every minute and learnt so much about this craft.
I will be booking future classes and recommending to family and friends.
Thank you both xx

Dear Rachel and Rhian.
Thank you both for another fab workshop. I booked the workshop with my mum and partner to create our little fury friends. A cairn terrier, a pug and a staffy.
The practical skills you both shared to help us make our dogs were fabulous. The day was full of creativity, patience and plenty of laughs.
Really lovely group in a great venue.
Can’t quite believe how the dogs evolved from a fluffy mass of wool in the morning to realistic pooches in the afternoon.
I’m still amazed at the thought you put into matching the wool and colours prior to the workshop to match our dogs, brilliant! And thank you x
Can’t wait for the next class xx

My Mum and I had a fabulous day with Rachel and Rhian - our first attempt at needlefelting. It was totally absorbing and we produced two super hares - way beyond what we thought would be possible as beginners. Both Rachel and Rhian are lovely, warm and friendly - and great teachers with lots of patience and tips on developing skills. The course was amazing value and the Community Hall in Gorseinon is a really good venue - a nice light space with all the facilities you need - including free parking. I can't recommend the course highly enough and look forward to signing up on another course soon. Hasta la vista Rachel & Rhian - we'll be back!

Response from 2 Inspire You:

Thank you so much Cheryl! It was a pleasure to meet both you and your mum. You both worked hard on the day and deserved the hares you had at the end of the day. It is good to be able to laugh and share with each other throughout the day.

Thank you for the amazing photos you took as well. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Rach x
