Join me for an online needle felting workshop where you can make your own little needle felted bumblebee. You will be sent a kit containing all the materials you need ahead of time.
Classes are taught via zoom, allowing you to have a crafty couple of hours from the comfort of your own home 😊. Zoom is easy to use. I will set up a meeting and will send you a link ahead of time. Feel free to log in 15 minutes before the workshop starts so you can get settled in and I can answer any of your queries.
My online sessions last 2 to 2.5 hours allowing plenty of time to interact and ask questions.
There will be a maximum of ten people per class and there will be a camera focussed on my desk to allow me to demonstrate each stage of the work and any particular techniques.
Due to sharp needles, this workshop is not recommended for young children, and children over 12 should be supervised.
I have run workshops in the past on different subject matters including bumblebees, toadstools and cacti. If there is anything in particular that you fancy felting, or if you’re interested in a specific date, please feel free to contact me.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
A kit, containing all the materials you need, will be sent to you ahead of time. This will include:
* A foam mat
* Five or more colours of wool
* Two barbed needles
* A piece of linen with a template;
* An embroidery hoop to frame your piece.
The workshop is £30 including the kit and delivery for U.K. participants. There is an extra charge for delivery overseas.
The workshop is run via Zoom, so please make sure you have a suitable device and a strong internet connection.
A pair of scissors and some glue may also come in handy at the end.

I didn't think there was any chance I could complete my first needle felting project during an online class but with Gwen's help, I am now the proud maker of a charming felted bumble bee. Gwen's screen set-up and instruction were excellent, as was the kit she mailed out. She is a welcoming, organized and very talented teacher and I look forward to my next chance to take a class with her.
Gwen is very calm and continually aware of peoples speed of working. She is inclusive and understanding to the different ways people work and happy to show how to work on each area of the bee as many times as needed. Another great session and lovely idea. Thanks Gwen.
Response from Gwen’s Felted Paintings:Thank you Emma, your lovely review really does mean a lot. It was good seeing you again :).
Wonderful introduction to felting and thoroughly enjoyed the workshop on zoom. Gwen was very patient with the group and manged to keep the ones who were ahead engaged as well as the slower ones so that we all knew what to do next. Very proud of my Bumblebee picture and now I hope to create more pictures using this technique.
Response from Gwen’s Felted Paintings:Thank you so much for your lovely review Yvonne! I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the workshop and delighted to hear that you’re hoping to do more felting in the future. Best wishes, Gwen 😊
I was given an online class as a birthday present and joined the class with some of my friends (a lovely way to catch up with people at the moment!). The materials arrived well in advance and a very generous amount of materials were included.
The class itself was easy to follow and Gwen was great at checking in on everyone's progress throughout the session (and happy to repeat steps as we all worked at different speeds). This was my first online craft course and I really enjoyed it - the afternoon went by very fast!
Response from Gwen’s Felted Paintings:It was lovely meeting you Debbbie, and I am so pleased that you enjoyed the workshop. Thank you so much for such a lovely review.
A very enjoyable session learning a new craft. My daughter and I very much enjoyed it.
Response from Gwen’s Felted Paintings:Thank you so much for your lovely review Sally. I’m so pleased that you and your daughter enjoyed the felting :)
Gwen’s workshop was absolutely fantastic. She was really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and created a really relaxed and encouraging atmosphere!
The materials were sent well ahead of time with beautiful packaging and attention to detail and there was plenty of surplus which was really generous.
Gwen is a great teacher and I look forward to booking onto another of her sessions soon!
Response from Gwen’s Felted Paintings:Hi Beth,
Wonderful class. My kit arrived in plenty of time, well packed up, lovely quality and generous amounts of wool (I could make several more bees!).
Gwen got in touch before the class with clear joining instructions. The session itself over zoom was lovely. Gwen had a great set up so we could see her and the demonstration at the same time. She explained everything really well, answered all questions and was very encouraging.
This is the first craft activity that I have successfully started and finished within a day. A wonderfully relaxing afternoon, I feel accomplished.
Fantastic for beginners or for anyone just wanting a relaxing afternoon of crafting with other people. I’m looking forward to seeing what other kits and sessions Gwen has coming up.
Response from Gwen’s Felted Paintings:Thank you so much for your lovely review Megan. I’m delighted you enjoyed the workshop :). I thought your bee was fantastic! I hope you find time to put your feet up with a crafty project again soon.
Loved the bee course and would like to do a online craft day every month with Gwen,
Thankyou so much

A real pleasure, from the moment my box of kit arrived to the finished bumble bee picture. I recommend this highly. It was totally absorbing. Gwen is a great teacher, the class was relaxed and friendly and great fun. I enjoyed every moment.
My kit felt like a box of treasure. I had more than enough to create my picture and have been making more bumble bees with the extra roving.
Treat yourself, the process of needlefelting is totally absorbing, very therapeutic and the finished results are lovely.
Response from Gwen’s Felted Paintings:Aww, Anne, thank you so much for such a lovely review! It was lovely seeing you again and I am so pleased you enjoyed the workshop. I love the bee you made with the extra wool!
I absolutely loved Gwen's workshop! I found Gwen's clear step-by-step instructions easy to follow, with good pacing throughout the session, giving everyone a chance to advance to the next step if they were ready. It was a really fun couple of hours and the time flew. It's great to find high quality online crafting courses with like-minded crafters sharing experiences and ideas. Although new to needle felting, I was delighted with the results. This may well be my new crafting obsession! Thanks again Gwen, I will keep an eye out for your future workshops! Jo x

The time flew as Gwen taught us how to make a felt bee. A lovely relaxing way to spend a few hours and acquire a new skill. I would definitely look to attend another course run by Gwen and I will attempt to make my own bee with the plentiful materials provided.
