Duration: Two x 5 hour Saturdays, 10 till 4 inc. lunch break
Course Start DatesSaturday 22nd February 2020
About the Course
You will learn about the most popular waxes, the different forms they come in and be introduced to some of the many ways of using, carving and creating with wax.
You will be encouraged to use a variety of methods to create a number of items for casting - seeing your work returned and transformed into solid metal is almost magical, the shape, size and detail all replicated into silver, copper or bronze!
As it takes over a week for items to be sent, cast and returned, this short course will take place over two weeks. Date shown is the first of the two days, second date will be a fortnight later.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
I have created a workshop that will take two days to complete, the items you make will need to be sent away for casting and on return, you will need to tidy up and polish your work.
We shall cover a lot of ground so I like to create a helpful handout you can refer to, make notes on and keep. I love the idea of kitchen industry and this ancient skill is absolutely ideal.
I have ensured that there are no further costs, all materials and casting are included in the price. This is an all inclusive, complete workshop.
Light refreshments will be available and suitable for most to enjoy, however you may want to bring a packed lunch.
This venue has no steps and the car park is directly outside.
This craft course provider has been awarded Bronze status for receiving 1 or more 5 star ratings from previous students.
The Students' Choice award ensures that course providers get recognised for their efforts in the teaching and practice of UK craft.
They also allow tutors to gain valuable feedback on their courses and for new students to find the course that's right for them.
