Explore your creativity in a relaxed and enjoyable workshop with Rachel at Danywern. The studio is nestled on a hillside near Crickhowell, surrounded by nature with views over the black mountains. A perfect location to block the world out for a while!
In this workshop you will be taught lino printing. You will be guided through the whole process beginning with a short demonstration, and will have instruction on the use of tools, how to get the best out of your designs and print your final pieces.
You can choose from a variety of items to print, a boxed set of cards, a lovely silk scarf, a bag or a cushion cover among others! You will learn the technique in a relaxed atmosphere and leave with a beautiful hand printed item that you will be proud of.
Suited to both total beginners or the more experienced.
*** Due to recent events, the workshops will be limited in numbers for the time being, to individuals or couples. The studio is in a detached building and all equipment will be sterilised before the workshop, masks will be worn and distancing measures will be taken, so you feel safe while you work.

I do a lot of courses, and this was truly one of the best. My partner and I had a session with Rachel at her beautiful studio, and she was so accommodating. We wanted to try dry point and screenprinting and under Rachel’s brilliant tuition we both produced something we loved for both techniques. Rachel helped us identify ideas, come up with designs, and execute them. She was so generous with all her lovely ink and equipment. I even got to do some screen prints on cloth as well as paper, and we had a go at screenprint monoprint, that I had never even heard of and is lovely. Lunch outside looking over the gorgeous view. Can’t wait to go again.
What a fabulous day! The course was such an enjoyable experience. Rachel is so knowledgeable, organised and enthusiastic about all aspects of printmaking. I loved all the processes of making the stencils, choosing colours, pulling the squeegee and the big reveal! And I took home a beautiful cushion cover to adorn my sofa. Rachel's homemade lemon drizzle cake and lunch were delicious. I'm looking forward to another course in Rachel's really interesting studio.
