Description

An exciting day and a great introduction to the art of lino cutting with a botanical/wildlife theme, taught by experienced teacher and tutor Sue Rowlands. Sue will give you plenty of ideas to think about for your design if you need inspiration, and once you have designed/selected your image, Sue will show you how to transfer it to the lino block. You will then cut the design to leave a relief surface which can be carefully inked up in various colours to create several prints, using a hand burnishing technique. You will be working on a piece of specialist lino and will be able to take home your original lino cut and prints at the end of the day. Course Structure Introduction to lino cutting techniques. Our days are considered special treats; many come back time and time again and often combine it with a short break to the Lake District. We have been hosting and organising 'Quirky Workshops' since 2005, from what was the original C2C Greystoke Cycle Café situated on the northern fringes of the Lake District. It was with great sadness that the Cycle Café was closed to the public in 2018; we since have become ‘Greystoke Craft Garden & Barns’. All our tutors are carefully hand selected professional experts and many are considered national leaders in their field.
