Lino cut & print class - Hoylake Wirral

Lino cut & print is a relaxing, creative & mindful activity. Leave the worries of everyday life behind & focus your mind on the carving away of natural lino material. Catherine has been an artist forever! But full time professional for the past 5 years, teaching for 4 of these. She works across drawing, mixed media painting, textiles and print. Pre COVID she taught as Artist in Residence at Calderstones park and teaches for Dot At Liverpool.

In this class she will introduce the relief printing family, show examples with books for you to browse, demo technique, encourage mark making and being creative.

Aimed at beginners and children over 10 years old, you will learn how to create a single colour print, how to mix colours, create a 2 tone blended print, create multiple block prints, how to line up (registration) reduction print method, jigsaw print method, chine colle - and make use of the 2 print press that Catherine has in this space.

Each session is split into 2 parts - firstly design, draw and cut. Then after a short lunch break, printing. Each student has their own table /work area.

The venue is fully COVID compliant.

Due to such small class size, Catherine is able to offer almost 1 to 1 tuition. You will be encouraged to come up with your own ideas and lead your own projects, with Catherine on hand to talk through process, risks and also a gentle push to challenge yourself. Any unfinished work each week can be completed easily at home.

Catherine sells home kits and print equipment. The fee for these classes includes equipment to LOAN in the class and some materials like papers and ink. Due to COVID NON SHARE rules on equipment you can either purchase your kit items from Catherine each week, loan a set or you can bring along your own - or both!

Please get in touch with any questions - finally we are back!!

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 4 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

Tuition, tea, coffee - a loan print kit and some materials like paper and inks.

Craft kit
Kate Hall - - #32564

This kit is just what I wanted. The materials and tools are of good quality and the instructions are easy to understand and follow. The clear explanations and guidelines and tips make for a positive and encouraging result to make you want to do more. Additionally, the set came beautifully wrapped and without 'over the top packaging' which is very important to me. I would recommend this product and in one word it is 'excellent'! Thank you

Loved the packaging . Saw the YouTube tutorials and I am very pleased with all the materials sent by Catherine.
Even tried on a Lino sheet and I think I’m getting addicted to it. Just stripping off each layer of the Lino sheet has been so therapeutic for me ... love love it .
Thank you Catherine

I can't quite go to excellent as I have not used the kit yet, but..... It arrived beautifully packaged and with everything included.
I am looking forward to using it on the next rainy day and as I want to use my own design - when I have decided which it will be.
Thank you.

I love this kit, its something to keep my husband and I entertained through lockdown and we're very much looking forward to trying it.
The seller was super helpful and it arrived quickly. She also put in a bit extra for us as we are doing it as a pair which was unexpected but very gratefully received.
Would 100% use this seller again for any other kits that take our fancy.

What a fabulous afternoon spent with Catherine on her lino cut course at Chemist & Co. The venue is great, with loads of space to spread out, and Catherine is a great teacher. She came armed with loads of inspiration for our lino cut cards, and loads of fab colours for the printing. I love my cards and will be sneding them out with pride. Thank you Catherine.
