The Saturday People Life Drawing Group is a not-for-profit community drawing group. They meet on a fortnightly basis at Swarthmore College in Leeds and have been established for over 20 years. The group is for mixed ability drawers with beginner and experienced artists welcome. The sessions are three hours long and alternate between a male and female life model. The sessions are not formally tutored, however there are a variety of experienced artists happy to share their expertise in pencil, watercolours and oils. Sessions usually start with a selection of short warm up posses followed by a longer pose.
The sessions are very useful for developing a drawing portfolio for university applications or those wanting to be part of a creative community.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

I love going to the Saturday people. It's great to be able to pursue my own ideas, try different media and keep my drawing skills honed. Lots of talented artists here and it's great to share tips and experiences. They always welcome new members.
My drawing has improved since I joined the Saturday People and I've enjoyed making new friends and being able to work together for exhibitions. I like this group because I only pay for the sessions that I can attend and don't have to buy a block of lessons. I also don't have to take my own easel and drawing board because the studio is already equipped with them. Every fortnight suits me because I couldn't commit to a weekly class but fortnightly is enough to keep up my skills.
