Linocut & print is a relaxing creative activity which gives great results for everyone - from children to adults. I'm Catherine an Artist based in Liverpool UK. I create and sell my own work alongside kits/materials - and I teach face to face classes. This item is a natural bamboo baren size 10cm diameter, sourced from Japan.This makes a great small gift or stocking filler for a print or creative maker, we carefully fold the baren in printed tissue paper before sending out to customers. This baren is perfect for a beginner or student and also somebody well into their printing journey. The bamboo skin references the traditional Japanese material used in its making. Barens are often used to hand print relief blocks by application of consistent pressure to the reverse of the paper. I would suggest using lighter weight papers 60/120g weight for hand printing method. Can be used with water or oil based relief print inks.

Clever Hands is a small business & Art Studio based in Liverpool UK run by Artist Catherine Carmyllie. When the pandemic hit, creative classes at the studio had to pause. Catherine began sending out arts materials by post so that her students could continue being creative at home. Since then the business has grown and has 3 learning options: purchase a kit online, visit the studio in person or watch the video tutorials free online, learning at your own pace. Catherine also exhibits & sells her own artwork.
