Introduction to Blacksmithing in North York Moors National Park

X

Description

The course is run by full-time blacksmith and experienced teacher David Stephenson. Forging skills are largely learned by experience so the course is very hands-on. During the morning we work on a range of forging skills, including tapering, controlled bending, punching, twisting, and riveting. We work on real projects so that students have a range of small completed items to take home. After lunch we work on a more ambitious project, developing the skills covered during the morning and extending into splitting and possibly fire welding.
