By popular demand we are now offering an even longer "Sword Making Experience"! Building on from the sucess and demand for our 3 day sword class this 5 day class lets you choose your own style of sword and the extra two days gives us ample time to perfect and refine the forgework. The five day class really opens up the possibilites to explore the ancient craft of sword making even further as you work along side master blacksmiths to produce a sword to a standard that you would be happy to pass down through the generations. The ultimate blacksmithing experience course, Learn the ancient art of sword making under the tuition of Master Blacksmith William Holland. This 5 day course will cover all of the techniques needed to be able to forge your very own sword to your own design, be it a Cutlass, Roman Gladius, Bastard sword or even a fantasy blade of your own design. The five day class is split in to the different stages which include; Blade design geometry, forging and forming Hilt design and hot forging, Blade grinding and sharpening techniques, Handle design, material selection and function, Final assembly, By the end of the course you will have covered all of the techniques not just in theory but in practice, with ample time and tuition to turn theory in to reality. Everything required to come away with your very own fully functional sword or battle ready reenactment blade. Under 18's must be accompanied by a guardian. This course is best suited to people with some previous experience due to the amount of forging and number of techniques involved to produce your sword, for this reason we strongly recommend coming along to one of our one day classes if you haven't done any smithing before. This will help to ensure that you have the physical strength and capacity to keep up with the other attendees.
