About the Course

Christmas Craft workshop at Lincoln Castle.

Make your own gilded Christmas decorations and add a touch of sparkle to your home for Christmas!

Gilding has been used for centuries to add a touch of sparkle to homes and palaces, and you can get into the festive spirit by making your own gilded decorations in this one-day workshop. Working with metal leaf you will learn how to prepare, gild and tone various surfaces, taking your creations away to ‘deck your halls’ in time for Christmas.

This course is suitable for beginners age 16 +. Please wear comfortable casual clothes with closed toe shoes.

The Heritage Skills Centre at Lincoln Castle has been offering hands on experience and training since 2013. See our website to browse the wide range of taster days, short courses and demonstrations in craft, conservation and traditional building skills.
