ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
An exciting new workshop with the very talented Annis McGowan, making this wonderful large Needle Felted Fox sitting some 16 inches high and looking forward to acting as sentry in your entrance hall!
Made entirely from natural and blended carded wool, of whites, glorious russets and reds, plus some Swaledale for added texture, to create a fine, plumped-up chest and an extra bushy tail, Freddie can grace a very special corner of your home. Annis' instruction and many resources will help you bring this lovely character to life.
Needle felting is the locking of the wool fibres together, through repeated stabbing with barbed needles. It sounds complicated, but can easily be learned and some beautiful pieces can be created in this way. Although some sewing is required, this day is ideal for both beginners or those with experience of this new and inspiring felting felting technique.
Suitable for all abilities. However PLEASE NOTE: there are some fine details in this course and anyone who suffers from arthritis may struggle to hold the small needle. In addition, the process of needle felting consists entirely of continual quick short stabs with a barbed needle into a felted cushion - all day. Therefore, those with joint or mobility problems might struggle with this course.

We look forward to welcoming you here and hope you can find something that appeals.

A thoroughly good day where I learnt loads and gained the confidence to progress on my own. Gill is a very good teacher and made the whole experience interesting as well as informative. We had a great mix of people on the course, who all got on well. I would highly recommend the experience for anyone.
Great day with Gill (and Annie) making artisan bread and scones. We had such a fun day but very productive at the same time! The time just flew by helped by our fellow students being good fun too. Gill is a great teacher and definitely knows her soda bread from her scones! Would highly recommend the course, especially if the thought of making bread scares you a little as Gill makes it all look so easy!
