Description

Two day course painting from nature

About this event

No experience is necessary to do this two day course. It is designed for anyone who has enthusiasm for being in nature and wants to find their creativity and discover the joy in making art work out of doors.

Our tutor at In The Wilds, Louise Waugh, has been a painter all her life and has many years experience as a tutor. Louise says she enjoys tutoring outside as it gives her the opportunity to "share the joy of this way of working, where you will not only be creating something, but you will be experiencing this wonderful planet that we live on and you won't forget the moment."

Louise is passionate about the natural world and painting out of doors is the most wonderful way to experience it.

The first day will start with drawing and mark making and practicing with materials, followed by deciding where as a group you would like to paint and begin by sketching. You will then go on to paint in your selected media (acrylic, water colour etc).

The second day, building on what you have learnt on the previous day, you will have the opportunity to work on one or a series of artworks in different locations of your choice.

What to wear and bring:

Footwear: Walking boots/wellies/off-road trainers as the ground is uneven.

Clothing: Dress for the season. Spare clothes, warm layers, waterproof jacket, sun cream, hat etc.

In The Wilds is also hosting an outdoor feast on Saturday evening. Why not stay on and soak up the beautiful atmosphere of the evening in the wood and eat delicious food around the fire?
