"Attended a one day Workshop today with Lorraine who was a thorough and knowledgable teacher. I absolutely loved every minute and learnt so much in such a short space of time. We were greeted in the morning with hot drinks and then straight on to learning some of the techniques, then straight into getting hands on! Lorraine answered our questions and found time for everyone on the course. Throwing on the wheel was great fun and Lorraine made it look easy which was inspiring. Mistakes were easily rectified and there was no pressure to rush. A brilliant experience and I would love to take another course with her. Thank you very much, see you soon!"

"Had a most enjoyable day. Lorraine was a very patient and efficient tutor. Our group of four were all pottery virgins but we all managed to produce pots of which we were very proud. We cannot wait to see the final results when fired and glazed. I will definitely be attending again in the near future. I would highly recommend Lorraine's course on throwing on the wheel to anyone with an interest in finding out what it is all about."

"I really enjoyed my day. I last experimented with clay when I was at primary school over thirty years ago so was a bit nervous but I had no need to be. Lorraine was a great teacher and explained things step by step very clearly. She is also clearly a skilful potter and was able to draw on her years of experience to help me turn even my bumpiest of pots into something beautiful! She really put me at ease. It's fair to say I was hooked by the end of day and am already wondering when I can go back again and do some more. Thank you!"

"What can I say ... after a one-day course, I was hooked! Lorraine helped me on a journey; not only of therapy and self-discovery, but a path to create amazing pottery. I attended many studio days, and each time Lorraine showed me everything I needed to know. Her teaching style is relaxed; she has in-depth knowledge, and you get unbeatable value for money - plus some! Oh, and her mom's cakes are simply delicious. Without a doubt, I can totally recommend Woodsetton Art Pottery. But don't take my word for it ... you best experience it yourself. So, if you're thinking, "Maybe I should," please do! You'll be glad you did."

"Received a warm welcome from Lorraine into her spacious workshop. She clearly and patiently introduced me and two other students to different types of clay and then proceeded to show us how to hand craft pieces of our own design. Lorraine has a relaxed style which dissipates any anxiety about learning something new. Her teaching skills and knowledge first guided me into making a pottery bowl, then she showed us all how to use the potter's wheel and create lovely bowls and pots. When the time came for a break for lunch, Lorraine was very hospitable offering tea and coffee and her mum's delicious cupcakes. Her shop displays a nice variety of pieces for sale and Lorraine is happy to explain the process behind making them. I really enjoyed the day and I'm sure I'll be going back. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished pots and would definitely recommend this course."

Alison Francis reviewed: Pottery/ceramics wheel throwing (full day)

"Attended the day with very little experience of working with clay. Had a wonderful time and managed to complete several pots during the time. Lorraines teaching style is practical, relaxed and informative. She manages to get the balance just right between giving you possibilities of what you could do and having a go and seeing what happens. I will certainly be going again and can highly reccommend the day to anyone interested in giving ceramics a try. Thanks Lorraine"
