Lorraine trained at Bath Academy of Art and spent 8 years working in The Potteries in Stoke on Trent. She has twenty years of experience as a designer maker. With her parents working in pewter, the incorporation of hand metal working was perhaps inevitable. Lorraine uses metal only where it is essential for the efficient functioning of the piece, and all her work is designed to have a useful function. The studio hosts a small gallery and has carried out design for museums and art galleries including the V&A. They are currently designing pieces for Kelmscott Manor, the country home of William Morris.
