"I met Alice during my research for the University of Portsmouth masters program in interior design. I was amazed with her work and loved her approach to the making process. I decided to give it a try and join one of her workshops which was yesterday. I had an amazing time. Alice is a wonderful tutor who spends the time to explain and show the process of weaving in a pleasant way. Her choice of colour and material is very creative. The atmosphere in her studio is inviting and comfortable. I weaved yarn on the loom along with lovely group of ladies over tea and biscuits. The location allowed us to have a quick lunch at the canteen which is five minutes walk from Alice's studio. At the end of the workshop, each one of us managed to finish a lovely weaved artefact to take home and enjoy."

"A fantastic, creative day. Such a chilled environment in which it learn a new skill. Alice is clearly both skilled and passionate about her craft, and is also a very professionl tutor. "What a lovely way to spend the day...time with Alice and 2 other creative ladies learning how to weave, sharing stories, being inspired by Alice's work and the Hotwalls Studios. It was a lovely peaceful space interspersed with Alice's patient guidance and instructions and cups of tea. I came away feeling that I'd really accomplished something unique and found the process of weaving meditative and exciting. I still have more to learn and hope eventually to buy my own small hand loom."

"I took part in Alice's weaving workshop last weekend and it was brilliant! A lovely calm, talented and patient teacher, like minded fellow students, and a whole day to be creative. I have wanted to weave a picture for ages and Alice enabled me to fulfill this and be very pleased with the result! The hotwalls canteen food was really good and so you don't need to take a packed lunch, what a bonus. I can thoroughly recommend this course, to learn a new skill and have a super creative day in good company."

"I enjoyed my weaving day in Portsmouth and if you'd like an introduction to this fascinating craft, I'd recommend it. It's a good chance to relax and learn from Alice, how to prepare the loom and start to create your own design-as simple or complex as you like. In a small group, Alice will instruct you when you need it or leave you to just enjoy the process, and there's the bonus of purchasing the loom at the end if you wish. Hope to do more days when the opportunity arises."

"I went on the 1 day course at Making Space recently and found it so inspiring. Alice is a really patient teacher and gives you plenty of room to explore your own ideas. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone. You have the option of buying the equipment for a very reasonable price. I did and made two more weaves the next day!"
