What a fabulously relaxed and enjoyable day. Lovely location. Amazing teacher, such calmness and patience. So pleased with my results from the day and looking forward to doing further classes in the future, and also continuing on my own.
Such a relaxing and inspiring workshop, Alice is an excellent tutor offering really clear instruction and most importantly for me, is so patient. Yards of yarns, knots and non-nimble fingers could lead to a catastrophe but Alice was always there to lend a hand and guide. I'm feeling very inspired and am planning my next macrame pot holder... Highly recommend.
A wonderfully relaxing day . A small group of Weave learners in a peaceful inspirational setting. Thank you
Alice for sharing your studio, and with your guidance we created a lovely piece of loom weave to keep. A lovely quiet time learning a craft that has been used in so many ways going back through history.
Thank you Alice for such a lovely relaxing day. There was lots to learn but you had so much patience with us all. We were able to take time & make progress at our own pace and finally produced something wonderful to bring home.
Fully recommend the experience.
I had a lovely time on the day weaving workshop. It was relaxed and friendly, in a really nice environment, and Alice was an excellent teacher. I purchased a loom at the end and the workshop gave me everything I needed to get started on weaving at home and I have not stopped since!
I did the macrame course yesterday (February 2020) and I very much enjoyed it. Alice is a patient and supportive teacher. I m enthusiastically practicing my knots today - practice makes perfect, even for me - I am 75 and a bit slower than most of Alice's students, but I have been enthused by what I learned yesterday and I throughly recommend the course.
I really enjoyed the introduction to frame loom weaving with Alice. I'm not a complete beginner, and Alice instead helped me 'crack the code' on weaving with multiple shuttles at a time. There was a lovely atmosphere, not least thanks to Alice who has such a calm way about her. She has a wonderful attitude to craft and to life and effortlessly combines the two. I highly recommend spending a day learning to weave.
A wonderful way to spend the day! The studio is a warm space surrounded by Alice's work, books and looms which are so inspiring. As there are small numbers on the workshops, everyone can work at their own pace and without pressure and Alice is generous and passionate to share her knowledge and skills. Looking forward to the Macraeme workshop next!
I absolutely loved this weaving workshop and would highly recommend it. It was really fun in a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. We learnt the basics as well as several different techniques and how to work with different materials. The small class size was ideal, as everyone felt fully supported. Alice was very patient and let us do our thing, but was always there to help and provide advice and tips. She encouraged us to try out new things, which was very inspirational. A great day out on your own or with friends/family!
I had been waiting for a face to face chance to learn a new skill. This was totally worth it. Alice is so patient and lets everyone learn at their own pace. There was no tension at all. I really loved the fact that it was a small group and she had time for everyone. I loved the experience 100%.
I attended this frame loom weaving workshop with Alice and it was fantastic! I enjoyed it like a kid, lots of excitement, choosing the colours, the textures, the artistic part of it, the learning of different techniques of weaving and all in one day! Highly recommended for yourself and if you want to share it with someone and spend the day out together. Thank you Alice for your patience and for sharing your knowledge with us xx
PS I have a lovely piece of my creativity hanging on my wall thanks to your :)
This was a really lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon! Alice is a wonderful teacher, and a very talented artist. I can’t wait to practise my new knotting skills. I also now have a beautiful handmade plant hanger to display in my lounge.
I really enjoyed this day-long course within the Hotwalls of Portsmouth. It felt very cosy despite a storm battering outside! It was great a learn the beginnings of weaving and to get to take a finished product home. I've even sourced different types of yarn so I can carry on, with the hope that practice makes perfect. I would recommend this course for anyone looking to start a new hobby.
