Maker's bio

Hi, I'm Maggie and I've been creating mosaic art for 12 years now. My joy is to share my ideas and creativity in my workshops which are intended to be always light hearted and fun. My garden and studio are full of quirky and colourful pieces to inspire you and make you smile.I have no formal art training and am mostly self taught. I love to experiment with different materials and have a wealth of "treasure" in my studio and garage. I love to use other people's "rubbish" in my work.

Issi Bannerman reviewed: Pretty Rubbish Mosaic and Glass Art 2 day Course

"What a fantastic couple of days spent with Maggie, learning about the art of mosaic and applying ourselves to making our own unique arrangements. The four of us left with different, unusual works of art - a pheasant, a camper van, a house name sign and a tropical fish. Maggie's passion and enthusiasm is certainly contagious and everyone left at the end of day 2 thinking and wondering about new things to make and do. Great fun. Highly recommended."

Pretty Rubbish Mosaics responded:

" Hey Issi. Thank you for your lovely review. What a pleasure it was to work with you. Your pheasant is amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed your company. I hope you will come back again x"

"I loved everything about the workshop. Maggie creates a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere in her lovely studio, and is a great teacher. The whole weekend was great fun and putting the mosaic together was so absorbing. I can't remember feeling so engaged in a creative project - and am very pleased with what I made. Thank you, Maggie for a special weekend, I've been thinking about what I could make next since I left :-)"

Anne Sanders reviewed: Pretty Rubbish Mosaic and Glass Art 2 day Course

"I have just spent a joyous weekend attending one of Maggie's mosaic workshops. She was well prepared, has endless resources and guided us through the mosaic process from beginning to end. We all went home with a piece of work we are proud of and lots of enthusiasm and ideas to do more mosaics. It is great to attend a course where you have fun for the weekend but also feel you have gained enough knowledge to have a go on your own. Thank you for a fantastic workshop Maggie, Anne"

Pretty Rubbish Mosaics responded:

" Anne, you truly were a star pupil!! Your creation was very special and such fun. I would love to have you back as you have such a flair. Thank you for your lovely review."

Sue Parrott reviewed: Pretty Rubbish Mosaic and Glass Art 2 day Course

"What a great way to spend a weekend. Maggie's organisation and preparation together with her enthusiasm and knowledge of her subject is inspiring. The warmth of the welcome puts you at ease immediately and the small class size is great as it allows you all to learn from each other and interact from the onset. Maggie has such patience and determination that everyone should get exactly what they want from the experience that you actually get so much more. I will definitely be back for more....can't wait! Thankyou"
