"I booked this day course as part of an Easter trip away in the Lake District. It took us about an hour to get there by car. We had 3 generations of family there and everyone loved it. We made a couple of pieces each with Penny's guidance and then she showed us how to paint them in the afternoon. Penny's knowledge and hospitality is amazing, we could not fault the day and the lunch provided was delicious. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone!"

I would definitely like to try some more printing and would recommend this course if you are looking for something a little different."

"I was anxious about this course press-ganged into it by my sister and friend. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Penny is lovely, relaxed supportive atmosphere. I have never done anything like this and have done nothing arty for a long time. Penny gives so much information about all manner or painting/ print processes it’s really whet my appetite. Thanks Penny x"

"Very much enjoyed the mono print and dry point etching workshop run by Penny who was very informative . I produced a number of prints from my dry point etching and was rather pleased with myself with the finished results. The mono print is a technique I am able to do at home and intend to do so. This is the second workshop I have attended, the first was ceramics hand build ,thoroughly enjoyable too."

Elaine Fishwick reviewed: Landscape painting in oil & cold wax medium in the Yorkshire Dales

"An excellent day. Penny had prepared well for the class and we were able to experiment with a wide range of materials with help and support to develop and explore our individual style. The catering was good and we were made to feel welcome. I would recommend this course to anyone, complete beginners such as me as well as more proficient artists, as the tuition was geared to us individually."

Dawn reviewed: Hand built ceramics: Make your own jug and bowl

"Learnt such a lot on this workshop and am so pleased with the jug, vase and bowl I made. It was really relaxed and easy going, I have hand built before so finished before some others so made an extra piece, all of our work was good and we got lots of individual help at the right level for us all. I've never used body stains or some of the decorating techniques before so that was an interesting way of working. I'm happy to recommend, I'll be going back for more :)"

Poppy Hughes reviewed: Landscape painting in oil & cold wax medium in the Yorkshire Dales

"With very little painting experience since school I was pretty unsure what Id let myself in for, but loved it! Penny was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and really helped me feel confident. We went out and painted around the studio, heading up a little track to get good views. We worked with different textures, building areas of texture into backgrounds before we left the studio so that we were much more experimental and didn't get too fussy. It was a lovely day and has really inspired me to paint more! Thoroughly recommend!"

"I recently attended the "Landscape Painting With Oils " workshop with Penny Hunt, in Horton in Ribblesdale, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was so interesting and inspiring to talk to Penny about her work and the techniques she uses and then put some of these techniques into action. . Though the weather was not great, we had an active day preparing materials before we left the studio and then getting outdoors to loosen up with sketches of the landscape in charcoal, chalk and ancient stone. We returned to the studio, having soaked up the atmosphere of the outdoors and with our sketches in mind, to paint with oils. Later in the day we took paint, boards and necessary materials outside to paint "en plein air" only returning for a little more work in the studio once the rain started again. I was excited by the workshop and can't wait to try out some of the ideas at home. I wanted to loosen up a little in my own painting and not be quite so bound by the actual. I wanted to explore a slightly more ethereal /abstract approach and I felt that Penny addressed what I wanted and gave me ideas. I would recommend this worksop and I am sure I will be returning for more in the future."

Richard Coope reviewed: Hand built ceramics: Make your own jug and bowl

"Got the course as a birthday present, wasn't sure what to expect. Spent a great day with Penny and other potters in Horton. Everything was clearly explained and after a few disasters I got the hang of the processes. On opening the fired jug and pot by post, I was amazed at the glazes. Recommended."

"Penny explained everything clearly with demonstrations of all the techniques and provided notes which also included examples of other artists' work. We had a very enjoyable day, learned lots and all produced a few prints to keep. I am looking forward to attending another of her workshops."
