"The one day course was a real treat - such fun going from complete beginner to throwing a pot with the excellent guidance of Rowena. This gave me a very good and real view into the very many stages it takes to make a pot and the skill required. The only improvement would be if there could be an optional subsequent half day to apply the glazes, but I appreciate this may be a logistics nightmare."

"I had a few hours with Rowena and they were exceptionally useful. As a potter who wanted to improve, Rowena guided me without taking over which helped me enormously with confidence. The session was really enjoyable and relaxed and we packed a lot in, going at my own pace. Rowena is so easy to get along with and is happy to answer no end of questions! Highly recommend. "

"Would definitely recommend this taster course. Rowena is an excellent tutor/potter she guided us through various techniques using the Potters Wheel. Being total beginners it was really useful to have the private 2 to 1 tuition and we managed to produce several items (with varying degrees of success!). You leave your makes with Rowena who finishes and glazes (your choice of glaze) for you. Excellent value for money, fun, interesting & a great experience. Thanks Rowena! "

"I had a wonderful day at the Paddock Studio with Rowena! I went into this course with little throwing experience and was keen to develop my technique. Rowena was very enthusiastic and adapted the course to focus on the areas I wanted more help with. In just one day, I went from throwing small tealight holders to bowls and pourers I was really proud of. If you're looking for a little 'clay'cation, I cannot recommend Rowena's course enough! She is a brilliant teacher and wonderful company. I'm hoping to return again soon."

"My husband booked this for me as a Birthday gift which had to be rescheduled due to my work commitments and Rowena was very accommodating to ensure we were able to attend. We had a fantastic day with Rowena who explained every step and was on hand the whole time to guide us to the point where we both threw a few bowls in the morning and we chose to continue on the potters wheel in the afternoon session also where we made small pourers and small vases. We chose our glaze finish from examples in the workshop and will collect them later. The course exceeded our expectations, whether an absolute beginner like my husband or a novice like myself Rowena was able to teach comprehensively each stage of the throw , positioning of hands and method though each stage. We were delighted with our end results and can’t thank Rowena enough. I would highly recommend this course with Rowena who will definitely not disappoint anyone who attends . We saw other students pieces which had been fired also and the quality was exceptional. I purchased a few pieces of Rowena pottery including a coffee mug for my daughter in law which she loved. Thank you Rowena for a wonderful experience "

It was so nice to have such one to one training, as it really gave us the opportunity to get better at our technique. We managed to make quite a few bowls and vases. We can't wait to pick them up once they've been fired and glazed. Would definitely do it again and 100% if you want to have a go at throwing a pot! "

I arrived thinking that I didn’t have a creative bone in my body, but thanks to Rowena’s expert tuition and guidance, I came away having made three bowls that are actually usable!! Rowena has such a calm, welcoming, encouraging and patient temperament that she made me believe in myself and I came away feeling quite proud of what I’d achieved!!
