"We had a fabulous day with Rowena learning how to make pots on the potter's wheel in the morning, and moving on to designing and decorating shallow bowls in a mould in the afternoon. Rowena was extremely patient and encouraging and at the end of the day we had somehow managed to make some pottery that we could be proud of. We look forward to seeing our finished products when the come out of the kiln in a few weeks time - we highly recommend the experience!"

"My husband and I thought we would try something different together and being Great Pottery Throw Down fans, we decided to give it a go! We had a wonderful few hours with Rowena, such a lovely lady, who demonstrated making a bowl and then guiding us through each step with many laughs along the way to make a couple of bowls each. Looking forward to collecting our works of art in a couple of weeks after they have been fired and glazed with colours of our choice. If you are wondering whether to give it a go, DO IT…it’s the best thing we have done in ages."

"What an amazing day. Spent the morning with Rowena learning about throwing pots and hands on pot turning for my wife and I. The afternoon was spent creating a dish with rolled clay and decorating it. I would highly recommend this as either an experience to try something different, a way to spend more time with a loved one, or as a taster for a new hobby. Rowena was a great teacher also which made the day all the more interesting. We even get to keep our pots once they have dried out and been glazed. "

"The one day course was a real treat - such fun going from complete beginner to throwing a pot with the excellent guidance of Rowena. This gave me a very good and real view into the very many stages it takes to make a pot and the skill required. The only improvement would be if there could be an optional subsequent half day to apply the glazes, but I appreciate this may be a logistics nightmare."

"I had a few hours with Rowena and they were exceptionally useful. As a potter who wanted to improve, Rowena guided me without taking over which helped me enormously with confidence. Being total beginners it was really useful to have the private 2 to 1 tuition and we managed to produce several items (with varying degrees of success!). "I had a wonderful day at the Paddock Studio with Rowena! I went into this course with little throwing experience and was keen to develop my technique. Rowena was very enthusiastic and adapted the course to focus on the areas I wanted more help with. In just one day, I went from throwing small tealight holders to bowls and pourers I was really proud of. If you're looking for a little 'clay'cation, I cannot recommend Rowena's course enough! She is a brilliant teacher and wonderful company. I'm hoping to return again soon."

"My husband booked this for me as a Birthday gift which had to be rescheduled due to my work commitments and Rowena was very accommodating to ensure we were able to attend. We had a fantastic day with Rowena who explained every step and was on hand the whole time to guide us to the point where we both threw a few bowls in the morning and we chose to continue on the potters wheel in the afternoon session also where we made small pourers and small vases. We chose our glaze finish from examples in the workshop and will collect them later. The course exceeded our expectations, whether an absolute beginner like my husband or a novice like myself Rowena was able to teach comprehensively each stage of the throw , positioning of hands and method though each stage. We were delighted with our end results and can’t thank Rowena enough. I would highly recommend this course with Rowena who will definitely not disappoint anyone who attends . We saw other students pieces which had been fired also and the quality was exceptional. I purchased a few pieces of Rowena pottery including a coffee mug for my daughter in law which she loved. Thank you Rowena for a wonderful experience "
