I did Rowena's one day course with my mum last month. We had such a lovely day. I was surprised by how much we managed to do in one session and we both got to make three pots on the wheel and another using a mold. Rowena was a great teacher and we had fun learning various techniques. We were both very pleased with our finished pots. I would definitely recommend this course as a excellent taster.

I had a fantastic day in Rowena's studio on a one-to-one day course. I hadn't done any pottery for nearly 20 years and had never used a wheel, but Rowena is very patient, encouraging and great at explaining what to do (and giving a helping hand when needed!). I made 3 small bowls on the wheel and then spent the afternoon decorating a bowl. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to booking another day to practise the skills I learned.

I cannot recommend Rowena highly enough. I had a three-day, one-to-one course with her. I’d only done pottery at evening classes about twenty years ago and had no experience of using the wheel. I learnt to make bowls, dishes, a jug and several mugs with her expert tuition. She is so patient, such a good teacher and great company too. I’m hoping to go back for a day or two soon as enjoyed it so much.

My friend and I had such a great day with Rowena! She was incredibly patient and very informative. She guided us brilliantly but let us experiment with our own Ideas on which shapes to throw/what to make. We were left with a number of pieces we were really pleased with. We also had a real laugh with her; the atmosphere in the studio is really relaxed and fun. I'll definitely be back!

I had a fabulous day with Rowena learning to throw pots, the course was informative and hands on taught in a warm, friendly and patient manner. I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and watching and learning from a talented artist. I am thrilled with the pots I managed to throw under Rowena’s guidance.

I did a two day one to one throwing course with Rowena. It was fantastic. I learnt a huge amount and because I had two days with her we not only covered making various shapes but had time to turn some bowls and make some handles. Highly recommend it for beginners or those wanting to become more proficient.

Buyer beware.
If, like me, you become ill and want to re-schedule she throws the cancellation policy at you and you forfeit the whole lot.
So don't get ill!!!!!

Response from Paddock Studio Pottery:

To all customers,
In response to the review by Sue Garrett: it was a very late cancellation on the night before, which meant it was not possible to offer the date to any other customer. Therefore, it was decided to not refund the cost of the day's course. I am a tiny business which cannot afford to lose a day's pay.
I try to accommodate for very serious events such as hospital appointments, deaths, or births, but I'm afraid I can't account for every situation. I hope that most people will understand that it is generally accepted that a late cancellation will result in forfeiting the course fee. Rowena Williams

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our day course with Rowena. She is a really good teacher and we were surprised that we were able to throw five pots each. The decorative work in the afternoon was fun too. The day passed very quickly. Lewes is an interesting town and there are plenty of places to get lunch. I would definitely recommend this course
