Marianne Gibson reviewed: Make your own contemporary sinamay halo headpiece - online

"I had a fantastic experience learning to construct the Sinamay Halo Headpiece online with Margaret Woodliff. She put our schedules together and came up with a time we could meet one-to-one to overcome an eight hour time zone gap. It was a well thought out and professionally taught class. Margaret is patient and amiable but still caught every detail of how my work was coming along to assure a positive and delightful outcome. I had high hopes and she exceeded them all! She spent a little time showing me the versatility of the headpiece through various models she had created and each piece could be showcased. I feel very fortunate to have come across the Craft Courses platform. Iā€™m especially grateful to Margaret for the time she set aside for me, for her delightful personality and for the excellent skills and talent she shared with me. "

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you very much Marianne for such a lovely review. It was a pleasure both to meet you and to teach you the online course. Happy Hatting! Margaret "

Bea reviewed: Craft Kit ā€“ Make your own handmade Tartan flower with a Petersham Bow

"I chose my colour combination and it is perfect for my jacket. I received this kit and completed it in less than an hour. I am so pleased with my brooch. Excellent product. The purchase form needs to be updated so that you can put your colour choices on the form. This would eliminate the emails that are required to sort this out. The seller is super efficient and wants to you to get your product ASAP, but I don't read my email daily, so any delay in getting your product is caused by this."

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Hello Bea Thank you very much for your review, I am so pleased you have enjoyed your kit, both making your tartan flower and wearing it! I know that the brilliant admin team at CraftCourses are working hard to respond to all the challenges that the current situation has thrust upon us all, and Iā€™m sure that they will look at updating the purchase form to enhance the siteā€™s functionality if at all possible. In the meantime I thought you would like to know that I am continuing to develop new concepts for hobby millinery kits so you can make your own small headpieces for when those weddings and special events finally get the go ahead. I will be listing these kits in due course on my Craft Courses page. Thanks again for your review Margaret"

Clare Younger reviewed: Introducing winter millinery - evenings - Newcastle NE1

"I have attended Margaretā€™s hat class for a Dahlia button. I much prefer sewing to glue gun but the process is quicker and fun. I really like 4 weeks classes instead of 3 as I''m slower and get frustrated. I'm enthusiastic at least. Margaret is professional and fun and Iā€™ve met some lovely people at her home. More classes next year are always welcome. Join her adventure and talents and you will enjoy yourself."

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thanks for your lovely review Clare! Your latest felt perching cap style headpiece is a stunning collection of three multi coloured dahlias! Fantastic results! Iā€™m looking forward to welcoming you to the next millinery course."

Clare Younger reviewed: Introduction to summer millinery - evenings - Newcastle NE1

"I took part in this course with no previous experience. I generally work at a slower pace craft wise but found the class really nicely run . A little sewing / scissors knowledge & some useful and some ironing skills I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in this craft which is quite specialised. I came away learning so much about millinery and appreciate all the skill and work that goes into each headpiece! Not just for race days and weddings lets bring hats back to fashion. A therapeutic craft and met another lovely lady as well! Margaret has patience of a saint x"

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you Clare very much for your review - it was a pleasure teaching you how to make your headpiece, and I am delighted too with the finished piece. I will wait with interest some images of your complete outfit, as I know you will wow the other guests with your beautiful headpiece when you attend the wedding in September! We are also looking forward to our next millinery meet-up and I am now busy planning a follow on course for the next steps in your journey of millinery exploration. Thanks again for your enthusiasm - Margaret"

Claire reviewed: Introduction to summer millinery - 1 day - Newcastle NE1

"I was lucky to have one-to-one tuition when I attended this workshop in Newcastle yesterday. Margaret was very welcoming and immediately relaxed me into the day. She explained things really well and has lots of patience. It was a full day with lots of coffee and biscuits to keep us going. I didnā€™t realise that every piece is handmade and found this amazing and now appreciate the work that actually goes into the work Margaret does. She had lots of pieces on display to give me an idea as to what to make. The workshop over ran but she wanted to make sure that I left with the fascinator completed. I havenā€™t sewn for some time but I think as long as the basics are known then it is suitable for a beginner. I loved the workshop so much I will definitely sign up to another in the future and wouldn't hesitate in recommending Margaret. I would say the half day fascinator Workshop would be brilliant for a hen-do! Thoroughly enjoyed the day! Thank you Margaret!"

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thanks very much Claire for the review and for signing up to come on the 1 day millinery course! We had a great day and I really enjoyed introducing you to some of the many techniques in wonderful world of millinery. I am really pleased that you enjoyed yourself so much and am already looking forward to welcoming you to another course in the future, meanwhile I have updated the timings on this particular course to reflect the amount of content. Iā€™ll look forward to receiving the photos soon of you wearing your new outfit and headpiece at the summer wedding you are attending later in the summer. Very many thanks again - Margaret"

gillian fletcher reviewed: Introduction to summer millinery - 1 day - Newcastle NE1

"Having previously attended a course run by Margaret I was confident that what I would create on this course would be something special and within my capabilities. Margaret's ability to inspire creativity meant that no 2 hats made by the students on the course were the same, giving us a bespoke piece of millinery at a very good price. Time between each of the sessions meant that I was able to source any 'extras' that I wanted to add, as well as completing homework tasks to ensure I was ready to take on the next challenge that Margaret had planned for the group. I wore my button to a wedding and made sure that everyone who commented on it knew how proud I was to be able to say I had made it myself."

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Gillian - thank you for a lovely review. It is always very satisfying when together we work towards helping you create your very own headpiece that you can wear confidently and with pride. In this case it was for your nieceā€™s wedding, and your sinamay button was made to co-ordinate with your outfit, chosen especially for the day. I was really delighted to receive some of the wedding photos and loved seeing you proudly wearing your finished piece at the wedding itself! Thank you again for joining the summer millinery workshop series."
