Helen Collinson reviewed: Introduction to summer millinery - 1 day - Newcastle NE1

"This course was the first time I had blocked a hat. I was so pleased with the results I wore my button to a friends wedding. No one would have known I made my head peice myself -except I could not help but advertise the fact to everyone who admired it."

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you Helen, for your review of the summer millinery workshop series. I really enjoy helping my students to choose their colours and encouraging them to believe that with help and guidance not only can they only design their own piece but also make it to a very satisfactory standard, and finally wear it with pride. In fact this I find is one of the most fulfilling aspects of leading this workshop series. It was wonderful to receive the images from the wedding you attended, and to see your wearing you headpiece with justifiable pride! Very many thanks again Helen for the lovely review"

Charlotte reviewed: Introducing winter millinery - evenings - Newcastle NE1

"In 3 sessions, plus some homework, I have made a wonderful, felt button, trimmed with a beaded felt flower, curls and a feather. I am very proud. Margaret guided me to make the hat even better for a first attempt than I could have imagined. I'm going back to Margaret to learn about using sinamay for the spring and summer."

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you Charlotte, for your review of my course Introducing Millinery. I too, am delighted with the results of your course. Your spectacular lined mustard yellow felt contemporary headpiece features an individually pieced mustard “dahlia” style felt flower and is trimmed with a contrasting marroon peacock feather quill. I know you will wear your headpiece with pride next autumn. Now I am looking foward to teaching you and your mother about summer millinery, in advance of this Spring’s racing season! See you very soon! Thank you again, Margaret"

Marilyn Martin reviewed: Introducing winter millinery - evenings - Newcastle NE1

"I have done two courses with Margaret and thoroughly enjoyed both. I would highly recommend her. I made a felt button and a sinnamay hat. I wore my felt button at a W.I. function where quite a few people complimented me on the creation. There were four members of the WI who signed up for one of Margaret's courses and we all had a good time. For anyone with a special occasion I would definitely recommend you try Margaret's courses."

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you Marilyn for your review - it was a pleasure to teach you and the other members of the Belford WI group. It is always interesting to see the variety of makes that are acheived using similar materials. I was delighted to learn that you had worn your felt headpiece to a WI event and do hope to hear that your sinamay piece will have an outing too, now the summer is coming. I am looking forward to seeing the images! Thank you again for your lovely review of the winter millinery class - Margaret"

Carol Lindstedt reviewed: Introduction to millinery - making a petal fascinator - NE67

"My daughter bought me this course as a Christmas present and I have to say, it was as perfect as a present could be! I really enjoyed making my fascinator. Margaret provided all of the materials and there was plenty of time to complete the task. It was so lovely to wear my fascinator whilst enjoying my afternoon tea too! Excellent course and a fabulous course leader. Five stars!!"

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you Carol for your review of the petal fascinator course - it was a pleasure to meet you & your daughter at The Bowes Museum for the afternoon workshop. What a great idea for a very individual mother/daugher Christmas present - the gift of a voucher to cover attendance at one of my courses! The petal workshop is infact a straightforward introduction to recreational millinery and through it, students find it is possible to produce quite impressive results. I look forward to seeing pictures of you and your daughter on an outing wearing your headpieces, in the meantime thank you for your review! All nest wishes - Margaret"

Kayleigh Lindstedt reviewed: Introduction to millinery - making a petal fascinator - NE67

"I took part in the course when Margaret ran it at the Bowes museum. Fabulous course, I loved making my own fascinator! Margaret was very patient, as I’m not a very good sewer! Was really pleased with the end result and enjoyed my cream tea too! Would definitely recommend this course, especially for beginners!"

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you Kayleigh, for your review of the petal recreational fascinator course. The great thing about this course is that it is suitable for complete and utter beginners - even those with very limited sewing experience can produce a very pretty headpiece during the afternoon. As such it the workshop would present a great “bonding” opportunity - such as a hen party, pre-prom, works’ do, etc.. Whether or not a cream tea is included depends on the location - this particular course was held at The Bowes Museum, and so was rounded off with a cream tea, and as it said in your review Kayleigh, this makes for a very satisying afternoon, all round. Thank you again for your lovely review of the petal fasciantor class, Kayleigh - Margaret"

Judith Anderson reviewed: Introducing winter millinery - evenings - Newcastle NE1

"Margaret is a most generous tutor: with her time, expertise and materials. She is very patient and excels at explaining all concepts at just the right level (neither condescending nor highfaluting). I have no hesitation in highly recommending this thoroughly enjoyable course which was held in such congenial surroundings. I look forward to wearing my creation at Cheltenham."

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you Judith for your review - the class was great fun and I love it that everyone has plans in mind for wearing their headpiece! I can’t wait to see the photos from Cheltenham, and hear that there are plans afoot for your headpiece to have another significant outing too, later in the year. Helen Collinson reviewed: Introducing winter millinery - evenings - Newcastle NE1

"I am so delighted with the quality of work I have been able to achieve with expert coaching from Margret. The friendly atmosphere in the small group really gets the creative mood going and means participants can bounce ideas of one another about how they intend to decorate their head piece. 1st class course giving participants skills to go on to other projects and become immersed in the world of millinery"

Margaret Woodliff Wright Millinery responded:

"Thank you Helen for your review. It's very fulfilling teaching The Introduction to Millinery course - guiding interested and enthusiastic "newbies" through the basics of millinery. I love watching my students as they grow in confidence and realise that with the support and guidance that my small classes offer they can create headpieces they will proudly wear to their next special event! Now I'm looking forward Helen to seeing the images of you wearing your latest piece - your lovely emerald green trilby! Thanks again - Margaret"
