Imogen's workshop is lovely too, with a wood burner so it's nice a cosy, plus we had some delicious cake that she had made. Whether a beginner or more advanced, I thoroughly recommend this fabric collage course. Thank you, Imogen."

"A thoroughly enjoyable day, thank you. Your teaching and encouragement could not have been better. You were so generous in sharing your ideas and instructions very clear. I had not touched a sewing machine for years and set out just to have a fun day, but it has been more than that. I have learned a completely new skill and now feel confident enough to continue to make textile art on my own. I have already raided local charity shops and started a second piece on my own!!"

Loraine Sherlock reviewed: Textile landscape workshop in Dorset

"This was a perfect workshop with a small group that took place in Imogen’s delightful studio/workplace. Starting with a short walk to the historic Sturminster Mill to gain inspiration, we spent the day under Imogen’s clear guidance creating our individual stitched pieces. Every step was made clear to us and progression was at our own pace. We were able to select our materials from the wonderful array of fabrics provided - so much to choose from! I would thoroughly recommend this workshop that caters for both beginners and more experienced stitchers."

Imogen Bittner Studio responded:

"I was very impressed with how your landscape evolved during the day and how you developed the different stages in your own way to produce an atmospheric and unique interpretation of this place. Your positive and cheerful attitude added greatly to a very enjoyable day."

Janet Greengrass reviewed: Tree kits - textile landscapes in a box

"I am only disappointed that I am unable to visit Imogen for a course in these extremely restricted pandemic times. I have been very pleased to speak to Imogen and to receive my box for the Purbeck tree. The parcel arrived the following day and I am really looking forward to making up the textile picture. Thank you, Imogen, for your inspirational designs."

Imogen Bittner Studio responded:

"Thank you Janet, I hope there might be an occasion in the future. Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy making the kit; it will show the techniques that I teach on my landscape courses so you can adapt these to make up your own designs in the future. Just replace the printed image with your own drawing and use transparent and opaque fabrics in the same way to build up the perspective. I'd love to see how you get on and hope you have fun with it. Best wishes, Imogen."

Frankie reviewed: Textile landscape workshop in Dorset

"Nothing was too much trouble, Imogen had put a lot of effort into the day not only with the course teaching but she had also made a delicious lunch; two homemade soups and a special vegan one for my daughter. She had even made a cake. The fabrics were plentiful and we were spoilt for choice. It was an interesting day and we all came away with something completely unique and memorable. I also had the pleasure of using an old hand machine, much nicer than my electric. I would definitely recommend this course"

Imogen Bittner Studio responded:

"You carefully worked through all the stages, even those that you were not expecting, to produce a lovely piece of work with an interesting perspective. Incorporating a building into the landscape really added to your design and has given me an idea for a future course! I am so glad you enjoyed the lunch - it gives a welcome break for such hard working students and a time to socialise. Thank you for coming so far- it was a pleasure to work with you and your daughter."

"Imogen ran a perfect workshop. Was very generous with her time, individual tuition, and materials. She provided a super lunch that gave time to relax and discuss work with other students. A truly enjoyable and inspiring day."

Imogen Bittner Studio responded:

"What a beautifully sensitive landscape - your delicate use of colour and texture produced such a successful piece of work. I always think that a tube of paint does not make a Picasso and so, my pile of fabrics can only be transformed into such an interesting landscape by the intuition and sensitivity of the maker. Very happy to have helped your inspiration!"

Katrina reviewed: Textile landscape workshop in Dorset

"Imogen was warmly welcoming, calm, organised, clear and patient in delivering this workshop. She encouraged free use of imagination and experimenting with colours, textures and effects based on initial ideas - of which she provided many. It inspired me to just take the plunge, as did the support and encouragement between all participants - what a great atmosphere and also an opportunity to meet people of like mind. The lunch was delicious (how did Imogen manage all this?) and gave the added bonus of relaxed conversation - plenty of coffee/tea/biscuits throughout the day too. Ditching my problematic electric machine, the timely loan of a vintage hand-cranked Singer helped to avoid disappointment. I've now cleaned up and learned how to navigate the intricacies of a vintage Singer previously languishing in the shed at home."

Imogen Bittner Studio responded:

"I'm very pleased that you have renovated your old Singer as I personally find them easier to use, as I think you did mine, on the day. I'm even more pleased that you enjoyed the day and want to continue to work in this way. I thought your use of fabric was innovative and your subtle use of colour produced a really delicate and well thought out piece of work. Your presence on the course added to the very enjoyable atmosphere and I would welcome you back, should you wish to try another."

Paula Medcalf reviewed: Textile still life workshop

"I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop which was like a breath of fresh air. It was relaxed and fun but also informative and taught me a lot about using different fabrics to create a picture using only scissors and a sewing machine. It was very satisfying to leave with a piece of work that was almost complete and I now feel much more confident in experimenting further at home. Imogen is a very supportive teacher and guided me through the process, offering suggestions when needed. We also had a delicious lunch! If you like playing around with fabrics you will enjoy this. I will definitely be making a return visit."
