"What a fabulous weekend I've just had! I've learnt some new skills in leather craft, made a beautiful hand made leather bag, from an excellent teacher, Jason. Both days were really relaxing as we worked away using the skills he taught us, the time just flew by. After a lovely weekend in the workshop I feel really inspired to make my own bags and cant wait to get my hands on some leather! "This is a fantastic course for everyone - even if you have no experience whatsoever, you will walk away after two days with a fabulous bag that will last you decades, feeling very proud of your work. Everything is explained and shown in a very clear and relaxed way, and Jason and Louise (fabulous people) will be on hand to answer whatever questions you have, and help you with whatever problem you have - with only four people on the course you really feel like you're getting all the attention you need. Great atmosphere, great lunch, great learning experience, I wish I could attend on a monthly basis!"

"This was a great course and I would recommend it to anyone. In fact I am going back to do another course in the art of hand carving leather. Jason who runs the course is very knowledgeable within the field of leather and clearly loves his craft. I gained lots of new skills and found the whole experience very rewarding. The location in itself is lovely based in an old mill where the Leeds- Liverpool canal runs alongside in a rural area. The messenger bag I made has had so many compliments. I love it. "Hi Jason. I cannot fault the course in any way. The setting is wonderful and the work space quirky yet entirely functional for its purpose. As a complete novice to be able to make a lovely piece of hand crafted leather in a day was amazing! The different techniques used helped me to develop my skills In a very practical way. "The course was excellent. My son and I could both follow the instructions given to produce something to be proud of. We liked knowing we were using leather that minimised environmental impacts. Both of us want to attend another of Jason's courses soon. Jason's studio was a great space to have a go at something new. Later on in the day, Jason's wife was a great asset keeping a patient eye on our efforts when we got stuck. And lunch was yummy!"

"We both found the course excellent on all counts. Jason is a very able teacher as well as a craftsman, exercising a great deal of professionality and skill as well as patience, encouragement and inspiration (ably assisted by Louise, of course!) In crafting our items, we learned some of the basics of they types of leather, introductory techniques and the use of basic tools that will stand us in good stead for future work. The setting of Jason's workshop in an old mill with a view onto the Huddersfield Canal adds to the experience and interest. I would unhesitatingly recommend the course."

"I honestly had the best day ever. I was lucky enough for there to be only two of us in the course that day, which meant I could ask as many questions as I needed to as we went along. Jason was fantastic teacher and really understood what I wanted to get out of my one-day course. He was easy to talk to and made a super-comfortable atmosphere for us to work in. The lunch was delicious and what an amazing building to be in! I have worked with leather for 9 years now, although not made items myself, but still learnt a huge amount whilst picking Jason's brain. I would recommend the course a million times over to anyone who enjoys working with their hands and learning skills - and it's so reasonably priced. Massively inspired and ordered a load of tools to continue with my leatherwork in my studio. I'm desperate to go up again and do the two-day course, which will probably be pretty soon!"

Jason is very laid back and so the atmosphere in the workshop is very relaxing. He is incredibly patient and encourages as he teaches. It is such an absorbing, therapeutic craft you come away feeling very uplifted. I can't recommend it enough!"

"I attended this course to improve my leather crafting skills. Jason is a wonderful teacher and I learnt so much. I also gained a lot of new confidence that will allow me to tackle bigger projects like the Messenger bag I made. The course was very relaxed and we were guided through the making process in easily understood sections, Lots of tips on the different processes to make them as easy as possible. The finished bag looks professionally made because of the guidance of Jason and his careful supervision. It is an experience I would recommend to anyone interested in crafting, and whether you are a beginner or improver you will come away with a bag you'll be proud to show off. Oh, and the food is superb as well."

"I have had a wonderful time on Jason's leather work course this weekend. The workshop is a little tricky to find, in a large mill building, but I joined 3 other people (who were doing the 2 day course) and received a friendly welcome. Jason is a great teacher, patient and good humoured, despite our many questions. I made a notebook cover, with a leather strap to fix. One day isn't long to cover all that many aspects of leather work but I felt I received a great grounding in the basics. We had an excellent lunch from a café in the building (I had a halloumi salad). Jason is happy to pass on his tips to encourage students to continue with leather work, for example, advising on what tools they might need and how to buy leather from local suppliers. I found the day really enjoyable, time flew and I enjoyed chatting with the other students. I am very keen to attend another course and would definitely recommend Jason as a teacher."
