Really enjoyed it. I'm seriously thinking of going back for a longer session later in the year, or trying one of the evening sessions. Deiniol was very helpful, supportive and an excellent teacher.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try throwing pots and as a complete beginner, definitely in the "senior" age range, I managed to produce three fairly different bowls in the two-hour session, including one I thought was quite good!

Response from Deiniol Williams Ceramics:Thank you very much for your review Mike! I shall look forward to meeting you again on one of my longer courses :)
I had a really fun time and learnt that I could do something new. Deiniol is a supportive teacher who genuinely enjoys sharing his knowledge of making. If you have got this far in looking at a course -go for it and I am sure you will really pleased that you did.

A very talented potter with great knowledge and more importantly, patience. Having never attempted anything like this before I was a little apprehensive but was soon put at ease by Deiniols relaxed manner.
A very enjoyable weekend course with great company, good food and interesting conversation - never a dull moment!
Deiniol is an excellent teacher and encouraging at all times. I learned a lot about ceramics and the various processes and with his help I was able to produce a number of pieces of work which I am very much looking forward to taking home to show off to family and friends.
I can't recommend Deiniol and this course highly enough and would also recommend it if you are struggling to think of something interesting and different to buy as a gift.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.

A good day that gave me the basics of making and finishing coil pots. Deiniol is patient and relaxed but manages to sneak a fair bit of information into your head about the finer points of working with clay. He lets you get on with it as much as you can but is happy to step in if things are going awry, which they did for one of my two pots that I made over the course of the day. One is now functioning as a water jug at home, the other which was a vase - because I faffed around when choosing the surface finish, was only bisque fired. Deiniol has since helped me finish it (actually my kids did it!) and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished item. I absolutely exceeded my expectations, but as there's still plenty of room for improvement I'm hanging out to do more and see if I can't do better the second time. I started thinking afterwards that a hand made jug and vase would cost more than the course fee too, so it was well worth it.

This is a really enjoyable course, over two half days in a fab location. Day 1 is spent learning the basics of preparing and handling the clay and then moulding and shaping flowers, day 2 is for decorating and colouring the flowers in preparation for a final glazing. Dainiol is a great teacher, very enthusiastic and patient. I made three flowers over the session and can't wait to see how they look once glazed.

An excellent course. The day was well organised and the atmosphere was relaxed. A great environment to be creative. Deiniol explained everything very clearly, was happy to answer all our questions and provide expert tuition. I highly recommend this course.
