Maker's bio

After graduating from the 3D Design course at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2005, I moved back to Wales to established a workshop on the family farm near Aberystwyth. I began making wood-fired stoneware pots and my own ash based glazes. After a few years I moved to the Peak District and set up a new studio and began teaching pottery classes. In 2018 I moved to my current studio in Sowerby Bridge (near Halifax), where I now also make earthenware tiles alongside my wood-fired ceramics.

"Taster session 1/2/20. A very enjoyable and informative introduction to throwing in Deiniol's studio. Deiniol guided us through the stages of creating a bowl. Very impressed that we all managed a second bowl."

Deiniol Williams Ceramics responded:

"Thank you for the review Vicky! I'm glad that you managed to make two bowls as it's a tricky skill to learn :)"

Layla suleiman reviewed: Throwing taster session

"Had the beginners taster this morning. I absolutely loved it. So much fun and really pleased with the bowls I made. Deiniol was very good at demonstrating the basics and great guidance while we were having a go. I had such a great morning and I can’t wait to pick up my glazed bowls. Will be booking onto one of the full day courses for certain. Thank you so much."

Deiniol Williams Ceramics responded:

"Thank you Layla! I look forward to meeting you again on one of my future courses."
