I’m Carrie, and I’m an artist and art and crafts teacher based in Stanley, north east England.
I have been teaching art and crafts since the early 2000s and teach a weekly art and craft workshop in the local area for a social prescribing programme. I also deliver workshops for organisations around County Durham, Northumberland and Cumbria.
Through personal experience, I know just how engaging with art and crafts can bring about a wonderful sense of wellbeing and relaxation. I absolutely love passing on my knowledge and the benefits of art and craft for wellbeing.
I particularly enjoy teaching absolute beginners, so rest assured, whatever your art and craft experience, I will guide you through the process and make it as enjoyable as I can for you!
I love to share my knowledge and tips and techniques, so I hope you'll find the classes fun and informative.

"I thoroughly enjoyed the Hand decorated clayboard brooches / fridge magnets / keyrings play session. It was a very relaxed & fun afternoon. Just the job to escape pre-Christmas preparations & play. Carrie was, as always, very welcoming, well organised, provided all materials (& an apron), demonstrated the necessary techniques & away we went. I came away with 4 fridge magnets I'm very pleased with. This is the 2nd workshop of Carrie's I've attended. I'll be back."
Crafts for Wellbeing responded:

"I have now completed 4 separate craft sessions with Carrie, 2 at breathing space and 2 at the studio. Each session has been a delight to take part in, learning new crafts with Carrie is an enjoyable and relaxed session, I've created some wonderful crafts, linoprint cards, embossing and working with clayboard. Thoroughly recommend."
