Metal embossed house number workshop

Description

In this workshop I’ll take you through the methods of creating a metal embossed image, which will result in a finished house number plaque, created in copper. No experience of metal embossing is necessary, as I will take you through all the methods to make your plaque. We’ll go through all the steps from creating your design, to transferring it to the copper plate, learning the techniques of metal embossing, and finally how to finish your copper plaque in order for it to be ready to attach to your house. You will leave the workshop with a finished house number plate. The decorations around the house number can of course be changed to represent you and your family. Workshops will take place at my home workshop just outside Stanley, County Durham. Please note that my home workshop is accessed by stairs. There is a maximum number of three people on the workshop, so you will receive plenty of individual attention and tuition. Unfortunately if you have a house name rather than a number, we won’t have time to create a plaque for your house, but you may like to make a great gift to make for someone who is moving in to a new home?

I have been teaching art and crafts since the early 2000s and teach a weekly art and craft workshop in the local area for a social prescribing programme.
