"I've wanted to try pottery throwing for years, and after being given a gift voucher towards a class for my birthday, I finally got round to it. Although not cheap, you really get what you pay for with this class and it's well worth the money. The class sizes are small so you get 1-1 help when you need it, and Charlie was really patient in explaining things. He really gave us confidence to just go for it and use mistakes as learning opportunities rather than something to worry about. I absolutely loved the experience and am looking forward to going back to do some glazing in a couple of weeks! On a side note, Queens Park Arts Centre is a real hidden gem and I'll definitely be on the look out for what is going on there in future."

Charles gave full explanations and support throughout the day, which meant we achieved our goal of throwing some half decent looking pots. "I really enjoyed the day. Charlie gave clear and completed instruction and direction - There is a great deal to remember! My only suggestion would be to have more visual aids for each step of the process of throwing. There was just one showing the steps. It would be helpful to have additional visuals per step reminding the student the position of their hands/arms and another explaining the key technique."

"As many of the other reviews state Charlie was a great teacher and very knowledgable. He was patient and focused on the areas each of us was finding difficult to get correct. Charlie encouraged us to persevere, which meant we all got at least one pot out. The time went so quickly for me because it was a very enjoyable experience. "This was the most amazing craft course I have done in the last few years. My hubby enjoyed it immensely and I personally have been waiting to get my hands on a potters wheel to try this for 32 years since I was at school! It was definitely worth the wait. The tutor was lovely - really good at explaining everything during the day and I ended up with a mug, a double handled soup mug and 2 bowls for the days efforts, hubby 2 bowls and a mug) ready to fire before glazing at a later date! The course was even better than I was expecting and I'd recommend it to anyone who has even a vague interest in crafting! Charlie was a brilliant tutor! 5 stars all round :)"

Really visceral and cathartic. If you have any yearning to tap the wheely creative bit of your brain I’d heartily recommend you do this course with Charlie. He is the don!"

"Fantastic workshop. Charlie was very knowledgeable, a great tutor and very patient. We had lots of opportunity to throw pots and I was amazed how much I'd learnt by the end of the day. "Attended with my husband as his birthday present. Charlie is welcoming and attentive throughout the day. All equipment provided and prepared on our arrival. Charlie gives clear and thorough instructions and continues to help during the day for individual instructions. Made cylinders and bowls. Guidance given for onward firing and glazing. COVID rules followed so all good there. The day flew by. Would highly recommend- and to top it all there was tea and choccy biscuits!"
