Course Start DatesSaturday 29th February 2020
About the Course
Come and enjoy happy mornings in the company of artists, from beginners to those who would like to get back into something artistic. The art classes are led by Louise Adams, an artist and designer who will give individual tuition and support.
The classes are based in the spacious, warm Stockton Brook Scout & Guide HQ, set in beautiful North Staffordshire. Louise will bring flowers and other interesting items to paint, show you some of her ideas and techniques and most of all, inspire your creativity.
There will be a collection of artists' materials to try out, from beautiful soft pastels to watercolours and gouache.
The building is next to a species rich wildflower meadow, the Caldon Canal and lovely slopes with views across a valley. When the weather is good, we can work outside.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
The weekly fee covers the materials you need to get going when you start including paper and brushes, also a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits half way through the morning.
I joined the Tuesday Class just over a year ago with some trepidation having just moved to the area. I was delighted how friendly and encouraging everyone was. Louise is so supportive and always ready to help. I had never painted flowers and foliage before and it was quite a challenge but with the help I received I am improving slowly but surely. I now look forward to my Tuesday mornings working with a really fun group.

Response from Stockton Brook Studios:I also really look forward to my Tuesday mornings.
Lovely art workshop with interesting and varied attendees from all walks of life. Everyone is encouraging and friendly. It’s a great social event each week. The art tutor, Louise provides inspiration and support when it’s needed but allows each artist to develop their own talents. It’s a wonderful session, to make friends, enhance artistic skills and relax. I’m glad I joined
Shirley Duncalf - - #27219
Response from Stockton Brook Studios:Thanks Shirley! I really love all your individual styles and talents .... you all bring so much to the Tuesday class.
Great class , we all are at different levels but all have strengths and weaknesses, Louise is very encouraging as are the other people in the class. It's not a competition. We just all enjoy the few hours of relaxing and enjoying painting. We all learn from one another which is really nice a mixture of ages and experience.
Helen Mountford - - #27191
Response from Stockton Brook Studios:Thanks Helen! I am looking forward to a new creative year. I love to see everybody’s work and ways of looking at things.
I really enjoy the Wednesday art class, you get plenty of help advice and the chance to try different media. The class is not too big and we are all at different levels and have different ideas which makes it interesting and fun.
Lesley Dennis - - #18425
Response from Stockton Brook Studios:Thanks Lesley. I really enjoy our classes, and love to try different ideas with you all. A lovely moment in my week!
