Description

Have you ever wanted to make your own silver jewellery? Join Fiona from Jewellery Moves for a day of making, learning and creativity. At this workshop you will learn how to saw, solder, file, hammer, hand-stamp and finish your own sterling silver jewellery. You will also learn how to make your own bezel setting and will leave at the end of the day with at least 3 stacking rings or 2 spinner rings. About Jewellery Moves: Taught by Fiona Dowling, a graduate of the Royal College of Art, Jewellery Moves workshops aim to teach traditional craftsmanship, jewellery skills and techniques in small groups with a relaxed atmosphere. This workshop is suitable for beginners. Minimum age is 14+, children 16 years and under must be accompanied by a participating adult who has booked a place.

What's included in the price?

Includes workshop, use of tools, tea and coffee. Materials: The cost of the silver is not included in the course fees. The approximate cost of these materials is £30/£40 and payable to the tutor on the day (ideally in cash). Please bring: lunch, make sure that hair is tied back and bring your glasses if you wear them.

Crafting in the Cotswolds – what’s not to love? Lechlade Craft Barn offers craft workshops in the pretty Cotswolds market town of Lechlade on Thames. The Craft Barn is an attractive old stone barn at Karen's home and is the perfect setting to discover and develop your crafting skills. Owner Karen has a long-held passion for crafting, with backgrounds in retail and event management. Along with her workshops, she is joined by a talented team of guest tutors who offer a wide range of craft workshops. The barn is accessed via external stone steps with handrails on either side and unfortunately may not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Some workshops are delivered nearby in the bright and spacious Memorial Hall complex and other local venues. In addition to published workshops, we also offer bespoke Crafty Parties for Hens, groups of friends and family, special occasions, or any excuse to have a crafty day.

"Hi I really enjoyed this course and Kelly was an excellent tutor. However, we were short of time in the afternoon so I felt the stitching process was rushed (for me, anyway) and I came away feeling a bit confused. We could have done with at least an extra hour to the published time. If we had had more time for the stitching and perhaps a handout with illustrations of the process stages I think I would have come away feeling more confident I could do it again. As it was I felt it was all easy to start with and then the bit that was the most complicated went in a blur. That was a shame as that was the bit I had most wanted to learn."
