By the end of this workshop you will have made two beautiful pairs of earrings or two lovely pendants - or one of each, the choice is yours!
We will be using the rolling mill to easily emboss simple shapes of silver with beautiful patterns, allowing you to learn the basics of using this fantastic piece of equipment.
This workshop is suitable for beginners to jewellery making as it teaches many of the basic skills needed for more advanced skills, however those with previous experience will also find their skills tested and improved by the end of the session. In particular, the workshop will teach delicate soldering skills to attach the stud fittings and earwires to your designs, but don't worry if you haven't done these before as plenty of help will be given!
A shorter workshop, timed perfectly to fit between the school run.
Only 8 places are available to ensure that everyone gets the help and attention they need.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
Cost of the materials is payable on the day. The cost will depend on the amount of silver that you use but these do not tend to use much silver. Previous students have spent approximately £10-£12 on silver plus £3.50 if you also need a chain for your pendant.
Tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits are in plentiful supply, but please bring your own lunch. We are a peanut-free venue, thank you.

I was given Craft Courses vouchers for my birthday and I picked this as one of the workshops to do. I'm really pleased I did. It was wonderful from beginning to end. Jo is lovely and makes you feel at ease. She is very encouraging and an excellent teacher. The techniques are fun and very effective. I made a pendant and two pairs of earrings and the estimated cost of materials is just right. The venue is great and there is a plentiful supply of hot drinks and biscuits, which is always very important in my opinion! I highly recommend Jo's workshops and hope to do another one before long.
Response from Joanne Tinley Jewellery:I am so pleased that you enjoyed your birthday present Mary! It was lovely to meet you and to help you make your new jewellery. Hope to see you again!
Really enjoyed this workshop, Jo always explains the processes really clearly and is accommodating whatever your level of expertise. The rolling mill enables you to make lovely embossed jewellery. Jo is happy to share her expertise, her workshops are really enjoyable and terribly addictive!
Response from Joanne Tinley Jewellery:Thank you Sara! You made some lovely earrings and pendants, and I was impressed with how many pieces everyone made. Looking forward to having you in the studio again later this month!
