Based on feedback from people attending our beginners silver clay jewellery classes, expert tutor Anna Campbell has designed this bespoke intermediate level, full-day workshop to cover what people wanted to learn next: how to make silver clay boxes and beads.
On this intermediate level boxes and beads class you will make three pieces: a shadow box pendant; a Pandora-style silver wrapped bead; and a silver lentil bead.
The workshop will cover creating box pendants with flat or rounded sides, using moulds to make decorations, designing the front and back of a piece, making bails, as well as different types of unique silver beads.
You will torch fire all your pieces so they are completed, and ready to take home by the end of the workshop.
The class size is kept small to ensure you have plenty of supervised practice, and Anna will also share lots of hints and tips. By the end of the day, you should have the confidence and skill to start making silver boxes and beads from home.
This full-day intermediate workshop is suitable for anyone who has attended a beginner’s silver clay taster or Introduction to silver clay jewellery making workshop, or who has previous experience of working with metal clay.
The introductory price of this workshop includes access to all the equipment you will need, plus all the materials necessary to complete the projects, including 15g of silver clay and a fireable gemstone worth over £30.
You will also be sent full class notes with all the information you need to make pieces at home, including details of where to buy tools and materials.
Note: If you use reading glasses please bring these with you as the class will include some close work.
Please note that The Arienas Collective workshop space is based on the first floor of a Georgian mews house and unfortunately we do not have lift access. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies when booking.

A fantastic day, so full of information. Anna is an inspiring teacher who encourages creativity in others. I am looking forward to my next class with her.
Response from The Arienas Collective:Hello Sian. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm so glad you loved your class. We always hope that people attending our classes will be inspired to continue being creative at home, and it's even more special when they book to come back to learn more :-) Anna will be delighted, and we both look forward to welcoming you back to The Arienas Collective to get creative with us again!
Fantastic course with Anna! I thoroughly enjoyed this class, my favourite part was learning to construct a more 3D pendant. Anna is a great teacher and demonstrates and explains the techniques in detail and has great tips on working with metal clay. The setting for the courses is great, just a short walk from Edinburgh Waverley if you are travelling, lots of space to work and a great lunch as well! It was nice to learn more about Arienas collective too and the other courses that they offer, I would definitely recommend taking a class with Anna and at this venue.
Response from The Arienas Collective:Thank you so much for this lovely review Joanne! It was a pleasure to have you join us for our first-ever silver clay boxes and beads class with Anna and we're glad you enjoyed it so much. The pieces you created were lovely, and we are delighted you were pleased with them. I hope to see you at The Arienas Collective again sometime soon. Keep creating! Best wishes, Lynn
