In this hands-on workshop, textile artist Elizabeth Ashdown, one of only a few hand Passementerie weavers left in the UK, will teach you how to make a contemporary collection of macramé samples that are inspired by the art of passementerie.
Passementerie is the craft of creating decorative and ornamental trimmings and adornments for interior and fashion design.
In this exploratory workshop, students will learn the skills needed in order to create a variety of interesting and exciting macramé passementerie samples, such as fringes and braids.
You will have the opportunity to select your favourite technique from the ones learnt to create one finished macramé tassel.
Students will leave the workshop equipped with the knowledge needed in order to use these techniques to create their own trimmings for interior decoration, jewellery and fashion accessories. All equipment is provided and no previous experience is required.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
