Description

A fun day playing with a variety of low-tech printing and transfer methods to create simple bookforms exploring the theme of leaves, plants and seedheads. We will be using tape for simple transfers, creating line monoprints, and printing with found objects and gel plates to create a lovely little botanical book… a perfect reference piece of techniques or an artists book in its own right. Lots of demos and individual help – no experience needed. What to bring: Drawing pencil, scissors and/or craft knife Matt medium (the gel sort) or PVA glue Acrylic paints & mixing palette (an old plate is fine) Brushes (whatever you have) Leaves with well defined shapes / veins (ferns are great) Reference of seedheads / flowers / plants for inspiration Paper – lightweight plain paper for printing (the tutor will bring plain white paper and tissue for everyone to use) plus any assorted papers for collage that you might like to use e.g text, patterned paper, tissue paper (you only need small amounts Newspaper, old clothes / apron We will be doing a small amount of printing from gel plates… the tutor will bring book-size A6 plates for this – if you have a larger plate of your own please feel free to bring it. Terms - Fee is payable on booking. If, having booked, you can no longer attend, we are unable to offer a refund or transfer you to another workshop. However, you may nominate someone else to attend the workshop or class in your place by notifying us. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date.
