Description

Enjoy a day of creative exploration, by coming down to the seaside, for a one day workshop experience led by Laura, at the oldest working art studio in Brighton. Right between Brighton Pier and the West Pier, with a sea view. Courses can be tailored for complete beginners and also for intermediate artists wishing to explore new approaches. You will be supported to make a unique mixed-media artwork to take home at the end of the day, by being playful and exploring different mixed-media techniques. The day covers various aspects of mixed-media techniques: - Working with different mediums, including paint, gesso and gels - Painting backgrounds and layers using different techniques - Playing with papers, fabric, photographs and collage - Using found and repurposed materials - Stamping and stencilling - Adding texture I like to use recycled and found materials in my workshops, and to add layers of meaning in the artwork by using materials which have meaning to you personally. If you have some paper or material that you wish to incorporate into your work that is meaningful to you, then please feel free to bring this along with you & we can advise if it is suitable to use (examples include a photocopy of a special photograph, a map, a letter, a small piece of lace, and so on).
