Midori style bullet journal bookbinding

Midori style bullet journal bookbinding

About the Course

Learn how to make your own Midori-style bullet journal from scratch. This style of notebook has removable inserts so you can use it for bullet journaling, sketching, notes and much more. Once the inserts are full, you can simply replace them and continue working. The notebook can be made with leather or with a vegetarian alternative (Kraft-Tex) We will begin the workshop by cutting out the leather (or Kraft-Tex) cover and then use a range of printed and plain papers and card to make three inserts. We will add pockets to some of the inserts. There will be an explanation of how to accommodate 1, 3, or 5 removable inserts. This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience, but please be aware we will be measuring and cutting leather and card by hand so some manual dexterity is needed.

The second part of the workshop is about learning about the bullet journal system and how it can help you stay organised and on-schedule, as well as a pathway to a more meaningful and constructive life. It helps you track the past, organise the present and plan for the future. If you're fed up with apps, bits of paper everywhere and general chaos, this is the system for you. It can be your to-do list, sketchbook, notebook, ideas hub, and calendar - or all of these things and more, in one place! It's creative, helps you focus and changes lives (seriously!). It’s a real complement to busy, tech-filled lives, enhancing well-being. A bullet journal is more than just a notebook: it offers a methodology to promote mindfulness, productivity and organisation.

What to bring - Scissors. Basic drawing tools: pencil, eraser, sharpener. Cutting tools: cutting mat (A3 if possible or A4 if you have one) cutting knife or craft knife (please make sure it has a sharp blade), metal ruler. Large eye blunt needle e.g. tapestry needle size 20 or similar
The following tools can be borrowed from the tutor on the day but if you have them please bring them to avoid the need for sharing - Bone folder (for creasing paper). Small awl / braddle (for making holes in paper and card).

If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
