Macrame Bottle Bag Workshop at Hanwell Wine Estate

X

Description

In this workshop, you will learn the most common techniques and knots used when making macramé items. We will start by choosing our cords and colours and then we will learn a few of the more useful knots such as the square knot, the half square knot and a larks head knot & wrap knot. After practicing knots, we will begin our bottle bag, all working together following the same pattern. You are also free to add your own touches to your piece as you go along to make it completely unique to your style. Your tutor will help with design tips and how best to approach your project to ensure you finish the workshop with your very own bottle bag, perfect for carrying your water bottle to your yoga class or your wine bottle to the festival! There will be handouts available for everyone to use on the day as reference for knots and patterns. These can be taken away with you so you can practice the techniques that you learn at home and hopefully make more lovely wall hanging designs in the future. In this workshop you will learn: How to tie a square knot, a larks head knot and a wrap knot. How these knots can be used on future projects. How to measure cord for future projects. How to use different macrame cords and which work best for which type of project. Who is the workshop for– suitable for complete beginners.
