Description
Learn to spin yarn - beginners. A full day (5 hours) learning handspinning, in a peaceful weaving workshop on a small holding in the beautiful Welsh hills. Learn the whole process from carding and preparing the wool and other fibres, then creating your own hand spun yarns, working on a drop spindle and a spinning wheel. You will also learn how to finish your yarn, and skein it and set the twist. The wools, and other fibres are provided for you, and there is a spinning wheel and spindles for you to work on during your workshop. If you would like to, you are welcome to meet the sheep during your visit. We have a flock of Shetland sheep who live with us on the smallholding. Lunch break is between 12.30pm - 1.30pm Please bring along a packed lunch. The workshop may have others attending, or might be just yourself. If you would prefer a one to one session please message me via the 'message the tutor' button. If you are travelling to get here, there is a farm cottage and a cabin on site that may be available for you to book.

Hi, I'm Lea! I live in the hills in Mid Wales, here at our creative retreat centre, with a holiday cottage, cabin, pod and gypsy caravan for guests to stay in. I teach creative yarn spinning, beginners spinning, drop spindle, wet felting, creative crochet & knitting, recycled textiles, & wild weaving. I teach personal classes and group retreats.
