About the Course

Adobe Illustrator is the industry-standard illustration application for print, multimedia and online graphics.

Whether you’re a designer or technical illustrator producing artwork for print, an artist producing multimedia graphics or a creator of web pages for any online content, Adobe Illustrator offers you all the tools you need to get professional results.

On this Mac-based course, you will:

- complete various exercises using all of the tools available
- create scalable vector artwork
- create professional logos from your own ideas and drawings
- use the Illustrator tracing tools to create vector illustrations from photographs.

What will I gain?

Upon completing the course, you’ll be able to create your own scalable vector-based artwork that can be applied to either print or web outcomes.

Level: Beginner

Entry requirement: There is no requirement to have used Adobe Illustrator before the course begins.

Previous knowledge of any Adobe Creative Suite software is an advantage, but by no means essential.

Knowledge of either Mac or Windows operating systems and being able to handle basic file management and navigation is essential.

Where you'll learn: You will be based in the School of Art and Design on the City Campus.

You’ll find collaborative working spaces where you develop your sketches and concepts, and IT suites equipped with industry standard software including Adobe Creative Cloud.

You’ll also have access to our library to use outside of your short course; whilst you can’t reserve or take away books, you are welcome to use them as a resource for research and referencing.

Tutor profile (evenings): Mark Williams teaches software skills on the undergraduate programmes at NTU.

He has almost 20 years of experience working with and teaching Adobe products, developing and delivering training courses to large and small businesses all over the UK.
