Description

Learn how to make your own rustic frame basket. During the course, you'll be introduced to the basic tools and techniques of willow weaving. You'll learn how to make and connect a pair of wreaths to act as the basket frame, and then add ribs to weave around. I can also show you how to add decorative handles, including bindings and rope coil. This basket is perfect to take out foraging, collecting fruit and vegetables from your garden, or even go shopping with. About the venue The workshop will take place at the Wyre Community Land Trust, which helps manage and conserve the wildlife and habitats of the Wyre Forest and provides opportunities for the local community to learn and engage with the natural environment and heritage crafts. Its a beautiful peaceful setting to spend a day willow weaving in!

What's included in the price?

This course is suitable for beginners and over-16s. No previous experience is necessary. The group size is limited to 8 to ensure that all course participants can get 1:1 support from the course tutor. All tools and materials are included. We’ll provide hot drinks, apple juice and biscuits throughout the day, but please bring your own packed lunch.

Daisy has a collection available to purchase and hire, and can also make bespoke pieces by commission. She runs regular workshops in willow weaving and other nature-based crafts in Shropshire, Worcestershire and the West Midlands
