New - Explore drawing, print and collage in Derbyshire
Next promoted date: Friday 3rd March 2023 Spending time on a creative task is a pleasure and a joy. It allows us to stop and take time out of our busy lives. It calms and relaxes us and provides opportunities to refocus; creativity engages our imagination and stimulates us. However, not everyone knows how to get a creative task underway, and it can be difficult not knowing where to start or even what to create, so why not join us for a creative boost? We will explain and demonstrate how to make lively marks on different papers, draw from observation and imagination and learn how to select and simplify images and designs. You will also draw with scissors and explore composition. We will explore flowers, plants and foliage displayed in a range of pots, vases and jugs in a light and playful way. Join Liz Wellby at her beautiful studio on the edge of the Peak District. The Slipper Studio is beautifully presented, with a wood burner and views down into the village. About the Tutor Liz Wellby is a versatile and experienced artist, teacher and maker, with a particular interest in sculpture and printmaking. Following the completion of a Fine Arts degree at Loughborough University and subsequent post-graduate studies, she returned to Derbyshire, where for over 25 years she has lived and worked. Liz now lives and works on the edge of the Peak District, kept company by her husband and cat called Bert. It is possible to arrange this workshop on different dates; should you wish to book 3 places for friends and family, the cost is £85 per person or £105 each for 2 people; please contact me via ‘message the tutor’, if this is of interest.
