Cloth Rebinding Workshop

About the Course
This day course is aimed at people who have completed a beginners course or have a small amount of experience.
It's a small friendly class aiming to learn how to breathe life into new books by creating a completely new binding, using cloth, papers or buckram.
Suitable books to rebind will be supplied, with a variety of titles, so that everyone has the opportunity to learn the same new processes, however if you have a book that needs rebinding please bring these in and if they are suitable and we have time we can start work on these too.
New skills will include learning how to round and back book blocks, how to create ½ bound, ¾ bound or full bindings dependent on your preference, small repairs, calculating case sizes and how to block labels with type and gold foil.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Tea, coffee, biscuits & cake will be provided, however you will have to supply your own packed lunch. Alternatively the Co-op and a cafe are close by.
All materials and equipment are included.
Don't forget your apron!
