Description

This is an adult needle felting workshop with tutor Natalie Harris (Brooks) Natalie is a fine artist using needle felting and the creator of Roly Poly Ponies. This workshop is aimed at people that have had a go at felting before and are looking to pick up new techniques. This would be an ideal workshop for those looking to use an armature for the first time, anyone wanting to add accessories/props or if you have an interest in making human figures. You dont have to be an expert and confident beginners are welcome, but if this is your first time having a go at needle felting I would suggest maybe trying a shorter workshop aimed at first timers first.... The beginners dragons, Easter chick, bunnies and strawberry thief workshops are good first timer workshops. Types of wool, needles and processes are explained and then you will create a basic body shape over a simple armature. There will be a choice of accessories and colours for your performer's costume. You will also be able to choose to position your dancer on a pole or in an over-sized martini glass. let me know your preference upon booking. Full T+C's are available upon request.

What's included in the price?

All materials and tools required to make your performer are included. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be offered, but Lunch is not included. Please bring a packed lunch with you.

Natalie is a fine artist that has been using needle felting as a part of her practice since 2015. Natalie uses felting in both 2D and 3D works and has had work shown nationally including the RBSA, Society of Equestrian Artists, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and The New Art Gallery Walsall. In 2017 she had work selected for the National Trust owned Beningbrough Hall's "Oh Wise Owl" sculpture trail. In 2018 she was selected for the "Character Portrait Project". She currently has work on show at The Art Yard and Wednesbury Art Gallery and Museum. Natalie is also the creator of the fun and quirky Roly Poly Ponies.
