Big Fish in a Small Bowl - Improver level adult needle felting workshop

Description

Taking place at The Art Yard gallery in Cradley Heath, this is an adult needle felting workshop with tutor Natalie Harris (Brooks). Natalie is a fine artist using needle felting and the creator of Roly Poly Ponies. This workshop is aimed at adults (18+) that have had a go at needle felting before and are looking to learn some new techniques or have a go at a more involved project.... if you have reached the stage where you would like to have a go at a basic armature, creating felted eyes or adding accessories, this workshop is perfect. Types of wool, needles and processes are explained and then you will use simple techniques to create a basic body shape over a simple armature. As this workshop is a step up from complete beginners, all of the creative decisions on colour, fin size and fish body type will be up to you and Natalie will guide you through the process. There will be a choice of colours for you to choose from on the day, but if you had something very specific in mind please let me know so that I can make sure your choice of colour is available. Confident beginners are welcome, but if this is your first attempt at needle felting, you may find the armature a bit tricky and the length of the workshop a little intense.... Natalie is a fine artist that has been using needle felting as a part of her practice since 2015. Natalie uses felting in both 2D and 3D works and has had work shown nationally including the RBSA, Society of Equestrian Artists, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and The New Art Gallery Walsall. In 2017 she had work selected for the National Trust owned Beningbrough Hall's "Oh Wise Owl" sculpture trail. In 2018 she was selected for the "Character Portrait Project". She currently has work on show at The Art Yard and Wednesbury Art Gallery and Museum. Natalie is also the creator of the fun and quirky Roly Poly Ponies.
